Mega Man Legends 3 officially cancelled

The Megaman Legends series changed the look of the megaman series for better. They should bring it back. It's not to late.

It's always someone or something giving a great team a hard time when all they do is develop nothing but good quality. . smh

well most like Inafune left no one can pull it off. you dont expect Ono to do it that guy is only good at milking SF if you know what i mean haha

Well, I have been hearing the dissatisfied complaints about MegaMan Legends 3 being cancelled and to be perfectly honest that is not cool to announce a release of a game and then turn around and cancel it half way through the project. I am part of the Megaman Legends 3 100,000 strong on Facebook but, I want to see it on a console the idea of seeing such a great game on a little screen just doesn't do it for me so, the day Capcom plans another Megaman for a console is when I will be impressed.

That's BS, MML3 was really anticipated because it was going to be the only real, semi-full game that was going to be available (at least supposed to be) at THE LAUNCH of the eshop. SOOO many people would have bought it for just that reason. And even today, there is still yet to be a real game in the eshop....sigh, if only they would've just F'in released the prototype, let it gain the popularity it was going to for sure receive, and then finish the final product :(

when i read this i got so pissed off, i can't believe capcom kicked not only their fans in the balls but one of their main charecters that put the company where it's at today...i'm sorry mega man, i'll always love and here's to hoping a legends 3 still does eventually come out...R.I.P for now mega man...

It's been said quite a few times, but it's like they're INSISTING to jump into bankruptcy. Where's your logic at Capcom? And please don't tell me this is all over Inafune, that's just completely childish.

Capcom sees big bank with Mega Man 9 and 10. They announce two new games plus MvC3. The two games get cancelled and Mega Man - despite being the most requested character across the board - is left out of the main game, DLC, and UMvC3 because "fan's aren't interested in a third Mega Man character." All of this after Inafune insults his entire side of the industry and quits Capcom. "I didn't jump to conclusions. I took a small step and conclusions there were."

Mega-man is to Capcom what Spider-man is to Marvel. how Capcom did Mega-man inspite of the Creator Inafune leaving the company is just wrong. Its Capcom payback to Inafune by hurting his creation, and pissing off fans.

Street Fighter 4 and Marvel vs. Capcom 3 got in the way of this game. So many Street Fighter 4 updates and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. The SF 4 updates were nice; but all of these rehashes is starting to get real troublesome. All of the updates and rehashes seems to be getting in the way of other projects.

I fear Mega Man may be going the way of Sonic,and I don't see a "Mega Man Colors" in his future to help save him.

@servb0ts: Gotcha, thanks for the clarification. It does seem odd, I guess I would think Mega Man is a surefire money-maker.

Suits are pinching their yen really hard these days. They claim they didn't see enough excitement or activity on the capcomunity site for this game. I think they got it wrong.

@maxwell97 Mega-Man Legends series was in 3D. other mega-mans are 2D. This game involved fans ideas, help, and involvement only to get it taking away.

Okay, I'm not trying to be a jerk, this is an honest question - why is the Mega Man series so important to folks? What distinguishes it from all the other side-scroller series of yesteryear?

Now, everytime I look at the name ''Capcom'' it somehow makes me wanna puke!

Let's see, you cancel Megaman Universe (which may or may not have been a good thing) Then you cancel Megaman legends 3 (total BS) and to and the final kick to the crotch, Capcom still won't put Megaman (whatever version) in Marvel vs Capcom 3 (or this ultimate version). WHAT THE HELL CAPCOM!?!?!?!?! WHAT THE HELL!?!?!?!?

First Sega and now Capcom is starting to majorly suck.

I only see this as a good thing after I remember playing the first 2.

I agree with goodemon, Though i feel it should be for 3ds. This game being cancelled also sucks cause I just finished Legends 2 the day before this happened.

Why not remaster the the first two games in the series, then add on Tron Bonne, and finish the compilation with Legends 3. Scrap the 3ds idea, give the compilation stereoscopic 3D, and release it as a $40-$60 combo blu-ray for PlayStation 3 where it rightfully belongs!!!

This is one 3DS game I was really looking forward playing, but it seems that won't be happening now. :( If Capcom was smart they'd release the game in "Episodes" or "Parts" on downloadable stores, if they're afraid it wouldn't profit at retail.

Watch them re-announce it next year. Or they could actually grow some and pay royalty and pull an OoT3D and remaster both the originals for 3DS.

Capcom... what the hell... I was so sure they wouln't cancel it after the notice that they took the MML3 project out of their Capcom homepage, like, how could they, Capcom, end a project like that, with SO MANY fans backing it up and waiting for it SO long!! HAHAHA of course not. No worries. It won't be cancelled. It can't. But it happened!. :( I'm mostly an X-series fan, but I feel it for the MML fans, and because it's Mega Man after all. How sad, the worst part is that they won't even release the prototype for the fans! FOR THE FANS, CAPCOM!!! Legends will keep living on its name ='( how ironic...

I was going to buy a 3DS just for the demo but now I'm gonna wait till December when Mario Kart comes out. Not cool Cap-com putting a Cap on a game I've waited so long for.

This game is one of the main reasons I bought a 3DS. And now Capcom has crushed my hope into a fine powder. They use to be such a quality game company, but now they just seem to be losing it.

@ S_Pac_316 That's why they suck.The Devroom was all about giving fans something they COULD do in game development. We were supposed to have a say.And then without warning,after all that hype,they drop it. Lately Capcom's games have been unimpressive to say the least.Lost Planet 2 really let me down.I don't want piles of Capcom Vs. this or that.Now they do this.

why i couldn't play the last games coz i was sooo young i was so happy for this but now that aint fair capcom i want my megaman legends!!!!!

i don't like this latest trend of cancellnig games for the 3ds.. it's becoming something to worry about ._.

Too bad. I wasn't a fan of the Legends series but I'm a Mega Man fan and would have most likely bought the game.

While it's offical this was Mega Man last chance for a new release. Capcom has cancelled two Mega Man titles back-back, it's a little sad but he had a nice run.
