Konami has finally confirmed the long-awaited Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater launches for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on August 28, and preorders for the anticipated remake are now live. The game will be available in multiple versions including a special day-one launch version, digital editions, and a massive physical collector's edition. Each version includes a selection of bonus content, and fans who are eager to play as soon as possible may want to check out the Digital Deluxe edition that is offering 48-hour early access to the full game starting August 26.

Considering the original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is often cited as one of the greatest games of all time and a highlight of the Metal Gear franchise, it's nice to see Konami going all-out for the remake's release. However, preorders for the collector's edition have already sold out at Best Buy, Amazon, and GameStop. If you see it in stock, we'd recommend snagging your copy as soon as possible.

Check the links below for everywhere you can preorder Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, plus information on all preorder bonuses.

All Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater preorders include immediate access to the White Tuxedo camo uniform in-game as a bonus (Note that the White Tuxedo uniform is also obtainable later in the game; the preorder bonus simply unlocks it from the beginning of the game). Additionally, preordering the Digital Deluxe Edition gets you access to the game up to 48 hours early, starting August 26.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, which originally launched on PS2 back in 2004. Largely considered one of the best games in the series Metal Gear Solid 3 takes the story back to the Cold War to show the origins of the franchise's winding political mythos. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater retains the dialog, cutscenes, and level layouts of the original game, and updates it all with new visuals in the Unreal 5 engine, and overhauled gameplay mechanics that let players choose between classic and modern control options. Haven't we learned a lesson yet?

Early access means paying extra to play a game that may not even be available early due to glitches or paying to be a beta test guinea pig so the developer can release patches when everyone else exerts self control and buys for 20% off months later.

Stop buying games at launch and especially do not pay to play early, there is no benefit to you.

This $200 figure set looks kinda garbage -- I've still got my play arts kai figures from some years ago and those are WAY higher quality than whatever toy they'll pack into this $200 price tag.

The game itself looks good. I'm not opposed to the tactical edition.

Dang 200....i love mgs3 but that collectors edition is garbage...you can get mgs patches for like 3 bucks on amazon and the hell I'm gonna do with a tree diorama? No please don't give us a cool motorcycle snake and eva figure or the shaggohod or a replica of ocelot's revolver...we rather have an empty frogtank with a fake tree in it

Fix the face of the Boss and we will be golden, Konami. She looks like a hippy.

@vgmkyle: as someone who has played through the original more than a dozen times, no, it does not.

@taylorspace: I think some folks are confusing a lack of expression with a lack of detail. Obviously, a PS2 character model from 20 years ago doesn't have nearly as much detail as a modern AAA game, but in that ½ second shot we got of The Boss in the Delta trailer, the character was looking pretty deadpan.

@taylorspace: That's quite possibly the worst argument I've ever heard as it doesn't take a person that has played through it ONCE to see. The PS2 version not only shows more detail but also shows more expression and age to the face.

@vgmkyle: it's impossible to even recognize that as a claim as it is absolute ignorance, so nothing to dispute here.

@vgmkyle: Agreed, based on that short shot, it looks like they de-feminized her compared to the iteration in the original game.

@ridah_2pac: The Boss has an almost square chin and always wears a scowl, you're an idiot.

@ridah_2pac: Hmm. The Boss never really looked "feminine" to me, I think what happened is that the game became more detailed, so our imagination can't fill in the blanks anymore.

But this isn't an Angela SH2 situation where the entire facial structure and features changed. This game is also a bit stylized still, so there's no weird uncanny valley effect like in Senua's Saga or stuff like that.

I'm waiting to see what they do with EVA, my guess is that she'll still look good though.

@Tiwill44: The face of the Boss has more detail on the PS2 version than this one.

@Slannmage: That would imply that it's simply an uprezzed version of the original.

@ezio899: I believe you because people are stupid. Most don't know the difference between a remake and a remaster either, and use them interchangeably.
