Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Trailer Shows Off Snake In Unreal Engine 5

I give my life. Not for honor, but for you.

During the Xbox Partner Preview today, Konami revealed a trailer for its upcoming stealth game Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, which runs on Unreal Engine 5.

Although the trailer was less than two minutes long, it showed off quite a bit that fans of the series may recognize. In true Snake Eater fashion, we're given shots of Naked Snake traveling through jungles and swamps while taking down soldiers and avoiding the wildlife. As the trailer goes on, more shots of pivotal story moments are shown off, such as the Virtuous mission, the Dremuchij area Bridge leading up to Rassvet, and the underground water area for The Pain fight.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was originally announced during the PlayStation Showcase earlier this year, and the initial launch trailer showed little to no information on how the game plays. According to Konami, the upcoming Metal Gear Solid remake "brings unprecedented new graphics, immersive stealth action gameplay and sounds to its riveting story as players once again return to the world of Metal Gear." The team working on the upcoming remake has been "involved in the production of the past [games in the] Metal Gear series, and that they'll be working alongside Virtuos, a studio who has also been" working closely with the franchise.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has no release date, but Konami has confirmed that it'll be playable on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox Series X|S.

I haven't played much MGS in general since the original on PS1 but this footage looks pretty stiff and slow to me..

Good game, no idea why this is the one that people are the most enamored by, though. Would prefer a twin snakes remake, personally.

Tough to come to a verdict with such raw footage but it looks promising to me. I never got to play the original though-I jumped on the bandwagon with 4 and 5.

Some people just decided they were going to hate this game the second it was announced. As a big fan of the original, I can’t wait. This looks great.

The original was a lot of fun, and it was the reason I made this username (like 20 years ago lol)…

I agree with everyone they should remake 1, but lets see how this turns out first 🤞

they definitely need to remake MGS1 too from PS1 with updated graphics and better controls. Keep the same exact atmosphere and story, just improve it.

the lower my expectations.

so you played a metal gear game on ps5 unreal engine 5? How is its suppose to feel? ps1 graphics or ps3. what makes it not feel like a ps5 modern metal gear? god gamers are so brutal to these developers. what makes it not a metal gear game?

@gifford38: uh... the developer of all the previous metal gear games is no longer with konami. (he left after MGS5, made a new studio... this news is really hard to miss)

but konami continues to monetize his franchise in his absence, because they own the license to the intellectual property, as the publisher.

anything they make without him will not feel like the real thing.

yes but people jump to the conclusion that it already sucks. maybe they hired another twisted minded person lol or a fan that might do the game justice.

fact is its a remake so how much different is it going to be?

@gifford38: it's not even just gamers. People these days will always find something to complain about and criticize.

I do feel bad for developers though. They get the brunt of the backlash and the majority of the time it's unwarranted.

@gifford38: not sure what people are expecting. If they simply want the original with slight improved graphics just get the collection. This is going to be a full blown remake similar to RE2 and RE4. If Konami can match what Capcom did with those games, we'll be in for a treat.

@Dizoja86: So if it's not a remake, what would you call it? They're taking MGS3 and remaking it for brand new consoles. If you don't consider that a remake then we have two different definitions of the word.
