Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Is Only $20 For Switch At Amazon

More like Metal Gear Savings, amirite?

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 is on sale for only $20 at Amazon. This deal only applies to the Nintendo Switch version. The compilation released last October. Solid deals up until now dropped the price to $40 (list price is $60). However, it's worth noting that the Switch version runs at 30fps, while other platforms offer 60fps. Otherwise, the included content and bonus materials are identical between all versions. Target already sold out of the $20 deal, so we wouldn't be surprised if Amazon sold out, too.

Heads up for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X owners: Amazon-owned retailer Woot is selling the compilation for $25. The Switch version is also $25 at Woot, so if the Amazon deal sells out, Woot's offer is a good alternative.

The Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 includes seven games: Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater alongside the classic MSX2 and NES versions of the original Metal Gear, as well as Snake's Revenge for NES and Metal Gear 2 for MSX2.

This isn't just a treasure trove of stealth action gameplay but also a convenient collection that is enhanced with the addition of extra content. It also comes with the motion comics Metal Gear Solid: Digital Graphic Novel (2006) and Metal Gear Solid 2: Bande Dessinée, strategy guides, screenplay books, and a curated in-game soundtrack.

"Konami has still put together a comprehensive bundle, collecting five highly influential games (and multiple variations) from a period spanning 24 years," Jason Fanelli wrote in GameSpot's Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection review. "There are other ways to play these games, but I think we often undersell the appeal of convenience. Being able to easily access them all on a modern console is a major selling point." While some of these titles might show their age mechanically, the overarching Metal Gear Solid narrative holds up remarkably, and many of its themes like digital surveillance, artificial intelligence, and weaponized misinformation feel more relevant than ever. Be sure to grab the collection while the deal is still available.

They need a remake, not a poor remaster.

I really hope MGS3 delta is a masterpiece, but I have no faith in Konami.

@Cbordi: I wouldn't. This MGS collection is a half assed port of the collection off xbox 360. Almost a direct emulation with issues and all. Can't even play it at 60 FPS like you can on PC.

@ezio899: It only has those problems on the Switch, the games run much better on PC.

MGS1+2 are rough & a struggle for most new to the game.

I was really hoping they remastered these.

If they remastered all 3 separately maybe 1-2 years apart

and included a bunch of Dorky goodies like a Tshirt

instead of steelbook or a [pair a of MGS socks lol

the MGS community alone would pay the $150 and cover the cost.

Im glad Konami realized they need to keep the IP legacy going in order to Pachinko it to death...

I just want a MGSV Sequel. I only want Hideo for his SMooth butter gameplay

& not his weird storytelling. But after MGS survive i am very concerned they can do this without Kojima.

~Peace Walker= Was this the PSP game?

My cousin swears by it & i can't remember the mp or online features he used to tell everyone but there was something special about it that i forget..

Is this in HD or remastered special?

I never thought i'd play MGS again & TPP came out and good god was FOB mode fun & even after 2000 hours i still didn't max out everything..

I think handgun, grenade & 1 or 2 security devices still needed that final tier unlock..

High level elite FOBs were crazy. Everyone is invisible & drones are everywhwere. my heart was racing in the starting safespace the minute before death.

10/10
