Konami of America has confirmed with GameSpot News that the next installment in the Metal Gear Solid series, the Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions package, will be landing on US store shelves in October.

The Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions package will include over 300 new VR missions for gamers to make their way through. This will be the second disc of a two CD package called Metal Gear Solid Integral in Japan. The first disk (which US gamers won't be getting) will play host to some great other features - making it a director's cut of sorts. For example, after you beat the game, a special first-person mode will be released, along with five new difficulty modes. Additionally there will be other small adventures, such as one displayed at E3 - a murder adventure.

The two-disc Metal Gear Solid Integral will be released in Japan on July 1 for 4900 yen (about US$42). The US Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions, when it releases on October 12, will sell for US$39.99.
