Michel Ancel: Beyond Good & Evil 2 is 'possible, but it'd be painful' on current generation

When I was a kid I got stuck at the disk game. I picked it up again recently and had my sweet revenge.

Emm... maybe that's why you shouldn't put console as the master hope? Maybe work on PC first, especially seeing how the next-gen platform's architecture is as they say, similar to PC, then optimization is not as "painful" as you say.....

Seems like its being built up a heck of a lot considering the first game, while really fun, wasn't *that* great :P

Why not make a pc version first and then release a PS4 version when it comes?

Dear Developers, please realize that cutting edge graphics DO NOT create a cutting edge game. A great game can be created without the best graphics on the market. This sounds like an excuse.

Dear Ubisoft. This is not 2003 anymore. Since that time you have quickly become one of the biggest name companies out there. You've made millions on successful franchises like Assassin's Creed. I'm sure you can throw a bone to BG&E2 to complete the game and put it out. Otherwise just flat out kill it. Spending money to make a sequal to an unsuccessful but much loved game isn't a "waste" of money and resources....dragging out development for 10+ years is.

Beyond Good and Evil was one hell of a great game. I tend to agree with those who are saying it's getting kind of late for a sequel. No more Duke Nukem Forever k ?

The greatest excuse ever, why don't they just say they don't give a damn about the game anymore, specially since it's been almost 2 full generations, and still no sequel.

making a sequel now is pointless. The first game was released in 2003 in is 2013 which has been a full 10years. If Beyond Good and Evil 2 were to happen. It would have already. The first game didn't succeed. The concept just is not popular enough to make money. That is why Beyond Good and Evil 2 has never been made.

Long-time fans of the first game know Ubisoft didn't take any responsibility for its failure despite not promoting it virtually at all and for releasing it in the holiday season against AAA titles, including pitting it against one of their own AAA games that was released at the same time. What I fear now is that if the sequel ever gets made, Ubisoft appears to be setting up in advance to call it a failure by having sat on it for so long. I wish Ubisoft would either give BG&E2 full support so it can be the best game it can be or just squash the hopes of the fans of the game for good.
