Microsoft registers Halo: Spartan Assault domains
Xbox maker privately registers several domain names related to unannounced entry in sci-fi series.
Microsoft has registered several domain names related to a new and unannounced project called Halo: Spartan Assault.
Fusible dug up the domains, which were registered privately through MarkMonitor.
The domain names are SpartanAssault.net, HaloSpartanAssault.com, and Halo-SpartanAssault.com, as well as .net variations.
Microsoft is currently working on a number of Halo projects, including Halo 5 and Halo 6, as well as Halo Bootcamp and a Halo TV series with Saving Private Ryan and Schindler's List director Steven Spielberg.
If Halo: Spartan Assault is indeed a new project from Microsoft, it could be unveiled next week during Microsoft's 2013 Electronic Entertainment Expo briefing on June 10. The company has pledged to release 15 Xbox One exclusives in the platform's first year, eight of which are all-new franchises.
Halo developer 343 Industries recently posted a multiplayer designer job listing, seeking a person to create "revolutionary multiplayer experiences" for a future entry in the series.
