Mindjack DLC plugging into 360, PS3

Mindjack didn't win much praise from critics upon its release for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 last month, but the Square Enix action shooter did pick up plaudits for its online modes. Gamers who agree will be pleased to know that Square Enix confirmed today two downloadable map packs will be released for Mindjack, the first of which debuts this week.

Map Pack 1 will be available through Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network on February 15, carrying a $7 (560 Microsoft points) price tag. Within it, gamers will find three new multiplayer maps. The Airport Shootout and Construction Carnage maps have gamers defending themselves against waves of enemies, while the Container Maze battlefield sees players winding their way through shipping containers to outflank snipers.

Six new maps are en route for Mindjack's online modes.

The second map pack will launch on Microsoft and Sony's systems on March 8, and it will also include three new playfields for $7. As with Map Pack 1, Map Pack 2 contains two arenas--Neon Nightmare and Look Up, Look Down--where surviving waves of enemies is the name of the game. In Truth at Nerkas HQ, gamers will work their way through a maze of buildings to take enemies by surprise.

Developed by feelplus, Mindjack places players in the turbulent world of 2031, when the planet is beset with political unrest. They will assume the role of Jim Corbijn, a federal agent equipped with high-tech devices that allow him to "hack" into enemies, civilians, and vehicles to control them.

i guess overpriced map packs that consists of 5% of the game's content is now the norm.. srsly, stop buying into this shid. otherwise, this trend will continue forever.

Does this not prove that dlc has gotten wholly out of wack. I mean clearly all of this "new" stuff was made before the release date. I would highly doubt the developers saw this game die in the water and decide to get to work cranking out "Expensive" dlc for a game that got brutally slaughtered by reviewers and players alike.

I mean the consumers let it slide for all the other titles, because the chopped up game got a 8.5 or 9, so helpings of 10$ dlc don't seem out of place. Now we can look at this game and see that either stuff was ripped out or the dev team is full of fools thinking people want more of this.

Here, buy a 60$ game, then buy another 10$ worth of DLC content that we took out of the game right before we packed up our final product. *Middle finger*

Enough people actually bought Mindjack to warrant DLC for it OMG. Some aspects sound interesting but then they show how it plays and it's like WTF, I'd rather watch someone scratch their back with a cheese grater, it would be more amusing but also more painful to watch..... Eh......Sorry , this game never should have been made.

Stupid developers! With the capability of DLCs, developers can now think or say, "well that's good enough for now, let's call it good, we can add stuff later." It's kind of like the trendy term "we'll fix it in post." It makes them irresponsible and lazy, thus leaving gamers with half-built games. Shame.

I'll bet you this DLC is under 1MB... "262.00 kb? Oh look, an unlock key!"

@kris9031998 I bet you that DLC was already finished before the game was released, I just don' think they knew the game was going to fail that bad so now their like meh might as well make any $ we can before the online community disappears from this game. This is 1 game I'm happy it wasn't ported onto the PC.

This game sold enough for them to feel DLC was needed? How about they pull the title and fix all the issues, THEN release it with all the DLC for lets say... $30 bucks.

Protip: If your game crashes and burns a good Idea is to give the DLC away for free and hope to bait some customers into buying.

No one will think less of you if you get on your knees and lick boot to try and get customers into your (average vote 4.5/10) game.

More flies with honey than vinegar and all that. Which couldn't hurt going off of what reviewers say this game smells like already.
