Minecraft Live Comes Back After Six Months, Will Drop Exclusive Movie Content
The show goes live later this month.
Mojang has announced that Minecraft Live will be returning on March 22 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET, six months after the the last one.
This Minecraft Live will feature new game-drop content, as well as developer insight about what's coming in the future for the game. There's also an after show called The Deep Dig, which will show first playthroughs of the new drop.
The last Minecraft Live aired back in September 2024, and it revealed a new biome called the Pale Garden, a new hostile mob called the Creaking, and more information about the Minecraft movie. Mojang acknowledged the short timeframe between the last show and the upcoming one, saying that players shouldn't be alarmed. Mojang is planning on being more communicative about its future content plans for Minecraft going forward.
The Minecraft movie is set to release in theaters on April 4. Mattel has also released a line of Minecraft movie toys, which include a figure of Jack Black, as well as plushies, a toy sword, and other related merch.
Minecraft's original creator, Notch, entertained the idea of a sequel or some sort of spiritual successor. However, he said that the former would need Microsoft's approval while the latter would not be nearly as fun.
