Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition sells 8 million
Open-ended sandbox game reaches new sales milestone, driving $160 million in revenue.
Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has now sold over 8 million units, driving $160 million in revenue, developer 4J Studios has announced on Twitter.
This figure is up from 7 million units sold by the end of June.
The disc-based retail version of Minecraft has been the United Kingdom's best-selling game for three straight weeks. In the United States, it was the third-best selling game of June, behind only Animal Crossing: New Leaf and The Last of Us.
Minecraft creator Mojang will hold the third annual Minecon in Orlando, Florida, November 2-3. Tickets went on sale last week at $150 each and are currently sold out.
The next new Minecraft release will be a version of the open-ended sandbox game for the Xbox One.
