MMO-esque Splinter Cell game The Division coming to Xbox One, PS4
New third-person shooter from Massive Entertainment launching fall 2014 only on next-generation platforms.
Ubisoft today announced a massively multiplayer online-esque open-world role-playing game set in the Splinter Cell universe called The Division.
The game will launch during fall 2014 exclusively for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. There will be no PC version.
Ubisoft Massive managing director David Polfeld explained to media this week that the game, at present, does not support the Kinect or the PS4's touchpad.
The Division runs on the Snowdrop Engine, a name based on the term for the first flower that blooms after winter. Polfeld explained that Tom Clancy himself has no involvement in the project.
