Monster Hunter Wilds Cross-Play Open Beta Coming Next Week For PC, PS5, And Xbox Series X|S
PS Plus subscribers get a two-day headstart on the open beta.
Capcom has announced an open beta for Monster Hunter Wilds on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. PS Plus subscribers will be able to access it first on October 28, and it'll roll out to PC and Xbox Series X|S players // out to PC and Xbox Series X|S players, as well as non-PS Plus subscribers on PS5, on October 31. Cross-play will also be supported across all platforms.
Anyone who participates in the open beta will receive a special pendant that can be used to decorate their weapons or Seikret mount if they decide to purchase the full game. Here's a closer look at the exact times for when the open beta begins:
PS5
- Early access for PS Plus subscribers: October 28 at 8 PM PT / 11 PM ET
- Non PS Plus subscribers: October 31 at 8 PM PT / 11 PM ET
Xbox Series X|S
- October 31 at 8 PM PT / 11 PM ET
PC via Steam
- October 31 at 8 PM PT / 11 PM ET
The open beta will conclude on November 3 at 6:59 PM PT / 9:59 PM ET, and it will include three separate experiences. Capcom says that players can check out the complete character creation tool--character creation data will be transferable to the full game upon release--a Story Trial, and the free-roaming Doshaguma Hunt.
Monster Hunter Wilds officially launches on February 28, 2025, and if you want to preorder, you can save up to $20 on the PC version right now. For those of you looking to treat yourself to some Monster Hunter merchandise, you can grab the Monster Hunter Rathalos Telecaster guitar if you have $2,000 burning a hole in your pocket and you live in Japan. Just remember: no Stairway.

In case you missed it, a new trailer has also gone live, showing off several of the beasts you'll be tracking down. Some of the new additions to the bestiary include a mysterious monster the people from Azuz call the Black Flame, the armored beast known as the Ajarakan, and the Rompopolo that inhabits areas with deep oil silts.
