Monster Hunter Wilds First Title Update Adds Grand Hub, New Monsters, And More
The first free title update for Monster Hunter Wilds has been revealed, with some exciting additions.
The first title update for Monster Hunter Wilds has been announced by Capcom, and comes with a brand-new area, new monsters, and time-ranked Arena Quests.
The Monster Hunter Wilds update release date is April 3, 2025, and is free for all players. A new event, Festival of Accord: Blossomdance, is also on the way soon.

The Grand Hub
The Grand Hub, which can be unlocked after Hunter Rank 16, is a gathering place packed with more activities and socializing for Hunters to do. Capcom promises Hunters will be able to interact with each other in new ways, including arm-wrestling competitions and the new Barrel Bowling minigame. Hunters will have to roll barrels into targets, with varying rewards available for higher scores. To start the game, you'll need Barrel Bowling vouchers, which can be earned in various ways including login bonuses.
The Grand Hub itself is a place of worship to the people of Suja. At night time, if you look carefully, you may find the Diva singing in offering. You can focus in on her while she is performing, and her beautiful dance is well worth a watch.
The Squad Information Counter will move from the Windward Plains to the Grand Hub when travel to the area becomes available, allowing for Hunters to conveniently manage their teams.

Arena Quests
Arena Quests are a new activity that allow you to compete with other Hunters for the fastest completion time in specialized quests. You can view world rankings on the Expedition Board at the entrance to the Grand Hub once you have unlocked the area.
Challenge Quests will be available as limited-time quests, with the aim to complete them as fast as possible for the highest rank. Pendants will be available as participation rewards, and special pendants are awarded based on your time completion and world ranking.
Limited Arena Quest bounties are available for a short time each, and will be posted on the Expedition Board to claim. Arena and Challenge quests are fought with pre-determined equipment in teams of up to two Hunters. Free challenge quests will also be introduced in Wilds, with no equipment limits, and teams of up to four people. To fill these teams, you may bring support Hunters if needed.

Free content
Additional free content is being added with the update, including the ability to change Alma's appearance. All players will receive a free new outfit for her, and after completing a side mission in the game, her glasses are also changeable.
Alongside this, classic gestures from the Monster Hunter series will make their return to the store for free, and the Cosmetic DLC Pack 1 will also become available for sale. There are new camp gear options on offer, too. Alongside the free DLC, there are paid cosmetic options coming to the store including new outfits.

New challenges
Mizutsune
Mizutsune, first introduced in Monster Hunter Generations, is a Leviathan monster being added to the game. The Bubble Fox Wyvern uses water and bubbles for its attacks, and has also appeared in Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter Stories 2. From Hunter Rank 21, players will unlock the Mizutsune hunt by speaking with Kanya in the Scarlet Forest. At Hunter Rank 41, Tempered Mizutsune will begin appearing.

Arch-tempered Rey Dau
Arch-tempered Rey Dau will debut on April 29 in a quest for players above Hunter Rank 50, giving an increased challenge, plus a new Rey Dau Gamma armor set to forge.

Zoh Shia
The first final boss of Monster Hunter Wilds, Zoh Shia, is also becoming a repeatable fight with additional new armor to be earned. The massive guardian is known for its huge energy attacks and repeated explosions, and drops valuable gear needed for crafting. You'll need to reach Hunter Rank 50 and complete the Dragontorch quest to unlock Zoh Shia for farming during the Wyvern’s Wakening in the Ruins of Wyveria.
