Many high school students would probably rather face an invading horde of monsters than take final exams, and for the lucky foursome in SouthPeak Games' Monster Madness: Battle for Suburbia, it appears that will be the case.

The publisher has sent note that the release of the multiplayer shooter has been delayed from mid-April to May 15. The game is due out for the PC and Xbox 360 and is in development at Florida-based Artificial Studios.

In Monster Madness, up to four gamers can play the story mode cooperatively as suburban teens who must defend their town from an onslaught of vampires, werewolves, and other menaces. The tongue-in-cheek shooter also features competitive multiplayer for up to 16 players over Xbox Live.

Monster Madness: Battle for Suburbia is rated T for Teen. For more information, read GameSpot's previous coverage.
