The next set of free Xbox One and Xbox 360 titles for Xbox Live Gold subscribers are now available.

Now through September 15, Xbox One owners can pick up How to Survive: Storm Warning Edition. Meanwhile, Xbox 360 users can download a free copy of Metro: Last Light through the end of the month.

These free games are available through Microsoft's Games With Gold promotion, which offers up titles to subscribers every month across both platforms.

Even if you don't have an Xbox 360, it's worth claiming the last-generation titles through the Xbox web store, as Xbox 360's Games With Gold titles may eventually be playable on Xbox One through backwards compatibility.

Below is a breakdown of the free games for Xbox Live Gold subscribers this month.

Competition is a wonderful thing. The success of PS4 is continually improving my Xbox One experience. Xbox One is getting better everyday.

@adamus: Lara Croft and The Temple of Osiris and Styx: Master of Shadows on the PS4 are great titles. Better than How to Survive on the XBOX One.

@adamus: You are clearly unaware of the PS4's line-up. You should consult this reference: https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-ca

Didn't Microsoft announce all future 360 Games with Gold will be backward compatible? I guess that includes Metro. I have both original versions for PC and Redux for XB1 though. Awesome games.

@greaseman1985: People see what they want to see, amazes me.

What MS said is, they'll keep BC in mind when picking games with gold. Which means, they'll try but not every game may or may not be, depending on the developer. No one, not even MS, can tell the future.

Metro games were so good. Played originals and bought the remasters on xb1, highly recommended.

Never heard of how to survive though.

@immortality20: The demo was available for How to Survive a while ago on XB1, I thought it was a decent game. Its a zombie survival game kinda like State of Decay but with an isometric camera.

Sounds good to me. Never heard of How to Survive but it sounds interesting to play it. As a city guy, I need to learn how to survive myself when shit hits the fan.

@davillain-: Its fun...not the greatest game but it is fun.

I would give it a 7.5

Its a zombie survival game (isometric view) with animal hunting and lots of weps and of course zombies

One important hint for the 2nd playtrough on hardrer difficulties...you lose all the stuff you got when entering the next playtrough.

Workaround:

Since this game can be played with 2 players, just hand over all of your stuff to the 2nd character before starting the next game, start the next game, load that 2nd character and receive all of that good stuff you earned in the 1st playtrough.

This makes also the next playtrough much more enjoyable :-)
