More Free Xbox One And Xbox 360 Games Now Available

It's the first of June, so you can now get more free games.

It's the first of June, so that means Xbox Live Gold members can now pick up more free games through the Games With Gold program.

On Xbox One, the new release Speedrunners is free alongside multiplayer DLC for the recently released Phantom Dust re-release. Moving to Xbox 360, subscribers can pick up the backwards-compatible Assassin's Creed III until June 15. Then on June 16, Dragon Age: Origins will be free for Xbox Live Gold members until the end of the month.

Additionally, one of May's Xbox One freebies Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, will continue to be free until June 15.

In addition to these freebies, Xbox Live Gold members can take advantage of the latest weekly set of Xbox Live deals--here's a roundup of some of the best offers.

Great month for gold. Watch Dogs is awesome, Dragon Age is amazing (definitely gonna buy the season pass for it and replay it again) and I've never played AC 3 but I am gonna grind it out soon.

I really wanted to like AC3. It looked really good, they made smart improvements to the controls, and there was a whole ton of content in that game ... but the mission design, characters, and story were all turn offs for me. : \

Glad somebody enjoys it though.

@Mogan: For me it was a breath of fresh air after the same mechanics in AC 2, Brotherhood and Revelation. I was so happy we finally had a change of setting/era, finally a new character. Loved the new mechanics, tree running, animal hunting, rock climbing, sailing. I loved to death Haytham Kenway. I understood Connor's drama. AC3 actually has the best writing in the whole saga really. The visuals were tremendously improved. The control was finally different. Same goes for fighting. And I think for the first time in the series then, secondary objectives required you to stealth some sections, which I liked.

(Licensing / legal / money) And some games will not be BC because they use Xbox 360 accessories / peripherals, that is why Phil made sure every game on XBox One will be forward compatible for the next XBox consoles beyond this gen.

I will finally play AC 3. I remember when a bought the game at launch on Steam, my PC couldn't handle the game properly. It was a sad day that one.

@Aragorn823: I'm actually replaying it now. I said I would never play it again because it's such a long game. But I forgot everything that happened and have still yet to play DA:2 and inquisition so I decided to start from scratch. Will be playing in easy though!!

@Keivz_basic: I actually liked DA2 just as much as Origins, and Inquisition better than either. That's not so much because DA2 was great or Inquisition was amazing, but because I thought Origins was a little boring. Not bad, just ... a little bland.

Anyway, 2 and Inquisition feel pretty different from both Origins and each other, so if you do play the whole series, I'd try to keep an open mind. Good luck!
