you guys know, that one of supermans weaknesses IS "magic" and that superman actually dies in one of the comics....there is your answer to how Mortal Kombat people can kill superman...CAUSE THEY USE MAGIC!

Tekken's story is garbage when compared to MK's overall... RIP Midway? don't think so, someone good will buy them if that's the case. Ahh, love it how some people are still ignorant to why MAGIC hurts Superman....and MK btw, is FULL of magic.

Akuma? ha, ha yeah right...Raiden would rape Akuma and everyone in SF by himself if he wanted to, not to mention Sub, Scorp(who never dies btw) and Ermac are among the most powerful ninjas in MK, they could also easily take on Ryu, Ken and Akuma no doubt. Akuma's cool but would stand no chance against someone like a Thunder God like Raiden.

But MK never had bad writing, lol it's been known for the story way more then any other fighters(which no offense or anything to SF, Tekken, SC etc) but they're not good when it comes to storyline like MK over the years. As for MK4, MK 4's storyline was actually one of the better points in the storyline with Quan-Chi's arrival, Shinnok etc. Granted, some character endings were just "alright" but that can be said about any fighter with certain character endings. lol just look at SC4's endings and some of Tekken's, SF's over the years, not exactly appealing. But to each his own steve. @ the other dude, If this game were vs. Marvel it wouldn't sell any more or less, where's there's DC fans, there's Marvel and vice versa. DC has never been involved within a fighting game so you can make the argument this will sell bigtime regardless. Besides, Marvel's overrated...DC MADE Marvel and all comics what it is today starting with the likes of Superman, Batman etc rbenns, lol not sure what you're talking about dude but this is the first MK "watered" down, the rest have all been M rated so not sure what you're talking about bud ; ) Diggyman, if you're a fan of faster fighters then this will be an adjustment. But take it from me, I'm one of those MK players that play online high level, this game will be solid, and way better then the previous few MK's that were stiff and had some issues. There will be patches for this game, DLC and the engine is completely redone, more 2D now. 2D FTW! But if you're not into other fighters then you're probably best to just play Capcom games. I feel the same way about some Capcom games with the charge meters, I don't like the fact that in some you can kill a guy with one special...

... Man, I don't know. Maybe I've been spoiled by Capcom's smooth fighting engines so much that when I play ANY Mortal Kombat game i feel like Im trying to coax mannequins into moving. The graphics are good, no question, but things like the segmented animation (check out the MKvsDC demo of the new close-up fighting component. Huge pauses in between each attack), or the "OVERLY-POSED" stances (I know you know what I'm talking about too), just bothers me that Midway allows for that. How come all of the standard non-fantasy moves look like something straight out of a corny Tae Bo vid. And It's always felt like that to me. I'm fine with the storyline in the series. and the wild violence is cool too, just make the fighters seem more fluid, geez. I probably wont ever play this game, it annoys me that much.

A good tournament fighter featuring DC heroes is long overdue, but watered down MK has always been lame when tried in the past, and I suspect it will be just as lame here. Should have been Street fighter, Dead or Alive, or Marvel vs. DC.

If this were MK vs. Marvel it would sell more copies.

One of the big draws for MK was its M rating and the brutality/gore. It will be interesting to see if the toned down T version will still hold an audience (adding the DC universe, I'm sure will help).

I play fighting games mostly for the fighting, too. It's why I like Mortal Kombat games. In a way, bad writing has always given MK games a so-bad-they're-good B-movie feel. And that's not a bad thing -- the endings in Mortal Kombat 4 are hilarious. It's just an interesting change that real writers will handle the story this time. Can't wait to see what they do with it.

Cool... now I just hope they made Raiden in Chris Lambert's image as per the very poor mid 90's film, then I can set about punching his stupid face in with Superman. awesome

Why do they always have a limited amount of characters in there fighting games, Take TNA Impact! for example. The roster was more suited to a Sega or Midway fighting game they was hardly anyone to choose from. As well 200moves is definitely something to get excited over;)

I think people get too caught up in the story with these games. It's a fighting game... it's more about the characters than the story.

Wow, they hired professional writers. That means for the first time ever, a Mortal Kombat story won't sound like it was written by twelve-year-olds. I feel better about this game now. ---------------- MKF30, who said anything about Street Fighter? You might be reading too much into the Ryu image.

If the game were being canonical in any way, the DC superheroes would almost always win.

sounds like a good concept, but heres where mk made the mistake, they used d.c, which more focus on god like people with god like power, instead of marvel, which has more human like characters magick users, and ninjas, the hand, eleckra,stick, iron fist, those are all ninja who could give scorpion and sub zero a run for there money.... so superman is weak to magick, we know this , and this is how there going to dumb him down of course.... but wait for it heres the kicker...answer this BOON... captain marvel aka shazam is not at all!! he is magick given to him by shazam the wizard, thats why hes earth mightiest human... he can go toe to toe with super man and kick his ass!! he is not affected by magic, so how do you explain him in the story, he wont get weak ,so that means as superman is weak to magick, captain is still just as strong as a normal superman... so how does he fair against the mk fighters!!!! bottom line they should of used marvel, then they could of gotten a m rating.

Honestly I think the teen rating is going to help this game....reason being.... M RATING JUST MEANS MORE LEGS then realism

The teen rating makes this game so much less appealing to me. Should still be really good though.

At first I didn't think I would like this game but so far it appears to be shaping up into a decent game. The graphics look good and the characters look pretty sweet. Catwoman might not have been the best option but they rendered her pretty nice :)

@jdogthehog You must not understand what a game going gold means. It means that the code has been finalized and is ready to be mass produced on disc. It has nothing to do with sales figures like in the music industry.

everyone that talks so far is a hater. Game has already gone gold so that goes as alot of gamers are already into it. If you don't want to get the game then dont talk. Go about your way and wait for your lame game. This is agoing to be a game for the real Mortal Kombat fans.

Why is there only 24 characters in this game? I mean look at Marvel vs Capcom they were able to have more than 40 characters and that was last generation. I'm gonna pass because of the T rating, Mortal Kombat isn't the same without the M rating.

If the Jedi/Sith guest characters in Soulcaliber IV worked, the Marvel vs. Capcom series worked, then MK vs. DCU should work. Although the story lines seems a lot like The Avengers vs Justice League. Still I have mine reserved. Boon hasn't steered me wrong since he took full control.

i really dont care for this game. i just wanna try out joker and thats about it, so its gonna be a rental for me.

Sceptical at first but after seeing the game in action I've become a fan. Game doesn't have to be rated M for Mature to be a good game.

I better save my money for Saints row or Fallout 3. And besides this game promises to be less brutal:''...and replace some characters' fatalities with decidedly less gruesome "heroic brutalities."
