MotorStorm tune-up in May

johnstar. the developers of Motorstorm have not inclued them things u said for a reasone and yes maby the loading times suk but u cant compare gt4 with ms because like adam2987 said they are simply not the same game.would you compair unreal tournament with say cod3? (by the way i know im bad at spelling)

1st Michaelsoft, now Fony, can nobody do there bloody job properly anymore an give us a game that a developer hasnt "missed parts out or tweaks" i saw a section in xbox360 mag a few weeks, 4 out of 5 top games on the 360, need a patch, have a patch or have 1 in waiting. Motorstorm is an ok game. Its can be a bit repetative and frustrating. But it'll be worth it when some updates come out. I shouldn't have to wait for an update!!! Online is boring at the moment, grand turismo is a simulation driving game. (Johnstar) If you're comparing the two games then you're a silly person...do you really think you could survive the jumps that exist in Motorstorm???? They are two different games built for two different reasons. Xbox online IS better ( I have a PS3)

I have a 360 and ps3 and i'm not partial to either one as far as loyalty, but if you asked me to choose right now i would say the ps3 is better, or should i say will be better by the end of 07'. O.K. Right now the 360 has more games and better online play... but when you look at the line up of games that are coming out such as... Lair Heavenly Sword DMC 4 (i know its multi) Metal Gear 4 Graw 2 You can see that ps3 will make huge gains before the year is over... NOt to mention the addition of the ps home when sony gets to runnin full speed microsoft and the over hyped WII will have to assume the position... And by the way motor storm truly lacks features when it comes to game modes... but lets not be too hard on it... the graphics get at least a 9 and the gameplay is great once you have started a race... As i said before better games will come soon!!! By the time motor storm 2 comes out all of our 360's will be red ring flashing coasters. lol

Motorstorm is the best racing game to surfice in the gaming world unlike microsofts futile attemps to bring good games to the doomed GAYBOX 360, opps.... i mean XBOX 360, for example fusion frenzy 2. the PS3 has many good games to back it up, and it hasent even put out Heavely sword, GT 5, MGS 4, Lair, Killzone 2, rachet and Clank and so on. the only reason people are stupid enough to buy a 360 is for Gears of war and the uber-overrated Halo 3 which will in the end have crappy graphics unlike their modest pre-rendered video. the PS3 will dominate the 7th gen just like it did w/ the 6th and the 5th SONY ROCKS THE PS3 ROCKS!!!!!!! The XBOX IS ETERNALLY DOOMED!!!!!!!

Motorstorm Pros: Excellent use of shaders. Wonderful Lighting. Very Impressive Physics. Intelligent, if at times a bit too agressive, A.I. Good handling differences between vehicle classes. Large and multi-path race tracks. Cons: Limited track choices Within-class vehicle differences are purely aesthetic. Damage does not afffect vehicle handling or performance. Ungodly-awful loading times not befit of a next-gen system. Lame, boring, poorly-designed campaign mode. No splitscreen. Poor ranking system. No way to add someone to buddies from in-game. No option for manual transmission. No way to kick someone from an online game. No spedometers. No true in-cockpit view.

OK I don't know where all you dudes are getting the GPU re-design stuff, but Microsoft is not re-designing ANYTHING for the 360 Elite except for ONE THING: An HDMI port. Yeah, that's it. Oh and a hard drive that's 6 times larger. But that's not re-designing anything. That's called adding on. So basically....the 360 Elite will be 480 bucks for an HDMI port. Oh and one last, very important point. The Elite 360 is NOT going to contain the 65 nano-meter, energy-efficient, cooler-running processors like Microsoft said it would. No no no....maybe sometime next year is when Micro-LAME will start sticking in the 65-nm processors. Oh well....sucks for all you jet-engine *oops I mean 360* owners out there. Anyways, back on topic. Motorstorm is far too shallow of a game to be purchased. This game deserves at most to be rented or borrowed from someone dumb enough to buy it. Motorstorm can't even TOUCH Gran Turismo 4. (May I remind you that game is from a couple YEARS ago, on a PREVIOUS GENERATION SYSTEM) Nothing can. The only thing that can be as great as GT 4 will be GT 5. Hopefully.

Johnstar...GREAT METAPHOR!!! Yeah, I don't own a PS3 yet, I am very informed about the every console and it's games because I seem to be quite the gamer. What makes me sick inside is if I ever hang out at a Best Buy or EB games and here someone talking about how worth it is getting a PS3 for the wicked graphics of Motorstorm, I feel such an urge to kick them to wake up. Sure, undoubtably the graphics in motorstorm look fantastic, but if anyone would care to look under the hood and at a whole of this game, it lacks so much it's depresing. A patch like this doesn't even fix one of the classic reasons of getting a console: split screen multiplayer. What's the use of owning such a gorgeous game when you can't play with your best friends because they are either A) broke and don't have one to play online, or B) don't care about purchasing a console but would totally have a blast trying to win a race against you. This game is flawed. I can't believe a comment Iv'e heard from one of the developers of the PS3 saying in that classic British accent "Motorstorm will be the best game" The gamespot editors loved that accent and tried using it everytime they discussed the PS3. Motorstorm is a showcase game for its graphics as a demo and it stayed like that. This patch really doesn't make it any greater; its useless.

This game has good points and bad ones. Lets start with the good. THE GOOD The best thing about this game is the music, yeah not a reason to buy a game but the sound track is amazing. Drum and bass, breaks, and electro by big names like Pendulum and Krafty Kuts. The graphics are awesome and great use of dynamic lighting and textures. Fun gameplay. Challenging THE BAD RIDICULOUS LOAD TIMES..... WTF. Why does selecting a vehicle take over 5 minutes. No multi player except online. Horrible use of the PS3 Hardware. Invisible bumps on the ground knock you off your vehicle, point you in the wrong direction, or even explode for no reason. FRUSTRATING No Practice mode. Lack of additional content, seems like an extremely rushed title. All in all, I rented this game and gave it back early, maybe this update will make the game worthy of the amazing system it was designed for.

Consoles are becoming more and more like PCs every year. I guess that has its pros and its cons.

F**K this update....MOTORSTORM NEEDS A PRACTICE MODE....A FREE RUN MODE WHERE YOU CAN TEST ANY TRACK BY YOURSELF.... I **HATE** ....I repeat..... **HATE** not being able to practice racing on a track. Forza....Gran Turismo....Burnout....they got it right... WHY isn't there anything but campaign mode and online? how stupid and restrictive is THAT???? Seriously...I **HATE** playing online and getting my ass kicked because I've never played that track before.....only because I haven't finished the damn campaign mode to unlock that track in singleplayer. I work at blockbuster, so even though I would get a discount on buying motorstorm, I won't, because of how restrictive it is in terms of gameplay choices. Motorstorm is like looking at a beautiful woman....then having her take her clothes off and then you realize she's actually a man underneath all the fancy fluff. booooo to the developers of Motorstorm.

I agree with faronta, some games look rubbish in split screen mode and motorstorm would look so much less spectacular if it was on half a screen. i dont see why anyone really needs it as online play is free anyway.

Well id like to first say something about this i'm glad they are doing a patch for a game finally i hope it becomes a trend of sonys because some of the Devs screw the games up. Now as for saying the 360 had better Graphics ive heard alot of info saying this is true but then are they going to do a GPU upgrade no more then a few months after the ps3 came out? did they maybe reverse engineer the ps3 and found out "o crap looks like there more to it then they let on?" every industry does this look at cars for one. But i think MS has gotten info they didn't like and thats why they need the update but any way I'm going off topic. I hope this improves the game issues tho and i hope they fix other games FEAR, Splinter cell, Some of Oblivion to name a few.

i dont see why peoplel make such a big deal about split screen. i hate playing racing games split screen, ur vision is limited, the graphics take a hit and ur always looking at the other screen to see what there doing.

Any improvment to a game are good why do people have to dig at sony for everything they do people moan about a patch what do you think MS are doing wiith the 360 buy adding a hard drive and HDMI I WOULD SAY THEY ARE PATCHING THAT UP WITH THINGS THEY SHOULD OF ADDED AT THE START

Yo Kruegmeister well according to one of the videos that was posted up in the Gamespot site, the colors "Purple, Blue, Green..." etc. does not really mix up with sand and dirt, according to the makers of the game the canyon is a currently existing place, and all colors and details and colors were taken from a certain canyon, and remodeled to fit with the feel of off-road racing, do you understand now?

Hey TTDog. I had another thought on that "Too much use of the Color Brown" Purple, Blue, Green does not make for good looking Mud or Sand???

What I wanted was not some bugs now fixed, but a coop offline :'(. The game is good and everything, but they should do a coop offline, I don't care if the graphics drops when you play on the same console, I just wanna play! Anyway, it's always fun to get some new stuff for free, lol.

Nice. This is why I am loving the PS3. Even after a game is released the possibility of expansion later is great. Sony seems to be doing really good at keeping a steady flow of updates for the system, playstation store, and the software as well. Keep em' coming please...

I love updates. For all games PS3 or x360. I hope this is a good one, maybe they might sneak in some extra tracks. Btw.. whats with all the complaints about updates. Updates are a good thing. It shows sony will try to perfect every flaw they can when it comes to there games. If this is a pattern to what to expect for futer games then it shows dedication to the customer. Also new maps and extra content for other games. So whats the problem with this update?? To many Fanboys out there Trying to take a stab at the PS3..Geez !!! Maybe all you x360 fanboys should complain about the gears of war update just recently released. Maybe they'll take away the King of the hill and the VGA support. Heck who needs it right,,Its just an update. keep up the complaining guys/gals maybe they'll stop with these updates .

gamerjerome , every game company does that now you know, even Microsoft has ben doing it stating with the Xbox. Just because we can download content doesn't mean we have to buy a half finished game, consoles are not PC's please remember that game companies

Back in my day they use to finish a game before they published it. This is a console game right? There shouldn't be a patch. Its a lazy way of saying I put out a crap product and I didn't want to take the time to finish it because I wanted to rap a few bucks from my consumers because I priced my console to high and we need a few more games before we lose to another console. I think that sums it up. I'm not a fan boy just a idealist.

i watched someone play the demo and well this game looks fun and all but eh nothing FORZA, DIRT, OR GT has to offer.

Motorstorm is a game that I couldn't wait until I get my hands on it. Just plain fun and beautiful. Even though it has seven tracks, but each time you play it, something different happens, and the online play is just plain fun.

Motorstrom is a great game nd the update is a nice extra but the only thing I want is a two player split screen

Kruegmeister; each to their own, I certainly wouldn't judge it to be anyway near a system seller, three minutes for a lap is hardly a big deal, and the 360's power is more than comparable to the "alledged" PS3 power as touted by Sony. If they could come up with a next gen Ico (and a few other AAA titles I can't get elsewhere) I'd consider picking a PS3 up, but for now I'll continue playing my 360 and PS2... hardly a fanboy... just a realist.

TTDog. That is a Fanboyish Point of View. I myself own a 360 as well as a PS3. Motostorm is an awesome game. The Tracks thing is an overstated non-issue. The Average Track takes over 3 Minutes to Complete 1 Lap. That is a BIG Track. Plus their are completely separate Paths that are suited to different vehicles. Plus Motostorm does have MultiPlayer so I don't know what your talking about when you say "No MultiPlayer" The 1st Person View is simply amazing on this game. Now I don't know if I agree about the 360 not being able to handle it. The 360 is a pretty powerful system as well.

i hope they put multiplayer it will be cool if they put that u can listen to your own tracks but probably thats gonna happen whe HOME comes to place but yeah..... motorstorm needs a fix...

Having played Motorstorm I can confidently state that most 360 owners wouldn't want to touch Motorstorm with a pointy stick, only 7 tracks, poor multiplayer and far too much use of the colour Brown. Its more like an overblown tech demo than a full game.

My goodness. Since the days of the nes, the console games ALWAYS was Buggy. The list of bugs in NES games is ridiculous, same thing in the SNES, N64, GB-GBA-GBC. In the DS, PS1 and PS2, Xbox and GC and all the old-gens consoles, The HDD-Less X360 could be a nightmare in some games. Even the Wii and the stupid and buggy controls of some games. Virtually EVERY game in this consoles has BUGS (some of them have even critical bugs) The difference now, is this: Machines with HDD and Internet access, allow the games to download and install updates and repair (and sometimes produce) bugs. For example, the list of bugs in God of War 2 in huge (Almost all are pretty funny to do, some of them are useful... but the game have a couple of big bugs that crash the game) In the past the publishers repair bugs in re-releases of the (cartridge) games or in the Case of the last gen, in the special collections. Now you don't have to buy again a game, or wait YEARS after a clean release of a big game. Remember: Upgrades are (almost) always good.

That boost exploit sucks, im glad they will fix it, now the playing field will be leveled a bit.

If the console games are becoming as buggy as th PC version ones .... which require frequent updates then we are in trouble..... they should release alpha and beta versions of the games first for free testing and then they should release games .... !!!:D

No bias in Sodium-Free's comment (sarcasim). Dude Xbox 360 is cool too, but unless you've played Motorstorm, you dont know how fun it is.
