The Mystery Art Challenge is something we started doing at Comic Vine back in 2011. It all started with artists being challenged, with no lead time, to draw Batman with a broom. We've done several installments since. The premise of the challenge is we approach professional comic book artists, start the camera, and give them the challenge. It's always a well known character plus a random object. The artists then have to figure out what they can do with the character and object. As some artists have returned for several installments, they have begun to challenge each other in trying to come up with an idea the others might not think of doing.

At Long Beach Comic Expo, we challenged them to draw Deadpool and a phone. Here's the supercut with all five artists taking the challenge.

We also cut up the video into separate ones if you prefer to watch in smaller doses.

Todd Nauck - artist on Spider-Man & Silk: The Spider(Fly) Effect

Agnes Garbowska - artist on Grumpy Cat and My Little Pony

Jim Cheung - artist on Guardians of Infinity

Ray-Anthony Height - artist on Midnight Tiger

Joel Gomez - artist on La Muerta

Let us know what you thought of the challenge.
