Counter Logic Gaming vs Team Curse

Voyboy’s monstrous Akali game was a highlight of yesterday’s matches. Curse’s match versus XDG also featured IWillDominate on Pantheon and Quas on Karthus. This unconventional team composition was utilized perfectly, combining all 3 ultimates to take out XDG in a blink of an eye repeatedly. Voyboy’s transition from top to mid has shown promising results so far. On the other hand, CLG was handed back to back losses yesterday. After playing a close game against Cloud 9, CLG’s failure to react to Hai’s split push ultimately lost them the game. In CLG’s next match, they were dominated by Evil Geniuses, ending up 4-16 on kills at the end of the game. The lane to watch in this match will be the mid lane, featuring HotShotGG versus Voyboy. HotShotGG failed to get rolling on his Nidalee and Cassiopeia in both of CLG’s matches yesterday. If Voyboy plays anything like he did in Curse’s previous matches, HotShottGG and crew will have to focus on shutting the boy down.

Dignitas vs Cloud 9

Cloud 9 displayed their dominance of North America yet again in the second day of the superweek. They were able to quickly turn an even match with CLG in their favor due to smart decision making and team play. The “KDA Kid” Meteos was back again, with a lucky 7/0/7 score on Elise. On the other side, TSM redefined “stomp” in their game versus Dignitas. Bjergsen made his mark as LeBlanc, with a 13/1/1 score, his only death to the fountain at the end of the match. TSM let Dignitas out of their misery after 22 minutes, 19-3 in kills. But, Dignitas displayed a glimmer of hope after winning a solid match versus Coast. Imaqtpie and KiwiKid shined in the bot lane with a combined KDA of 9/0/15. In fact, the bot lane may be where Dignitas could crack the Cloud 9 code. In recent matches, Cloud 9’s most visible weakness has been synergy in the bottom lane. If Dignitas could find a way to make the bot lane turn in their favor, they could be able to get the edge on Cloud 9.

Coast vs Evil Geniuses

Coast will look to pick up their first win of the season in their game against Evil Geniuses. In both of Coast’s matches so far, they have struggled to have an impact in the jungle and displayed weaknesses in the pick/ban phase. Nintendudex’s combined KDA over the past two matches has been a dismal 0/9/5. If Coast wants to get the win over Evil Geniuses, they will have to get the jungler rolling. In EG’s case, they will also need a strong pick/ban phase as well as replicating their strong teamfights versus CLG. The jungle will be the place to watch this match. So far, Snoopeh has struggled to snowball lanes on mechanical junglers like Lee Sin. Placing priority on an Elise or Vi pick could be a smart move in EG’s case. NintendudeX needs to play safer, and take less risk. His presence in both of Coast’s games so far has felt nonexistent. If Snoopeh or Nintendude could start off the game with a couple successful ganks, the game could swing in their favor.

Team Solo Mid vs Team Curse

Curse has the chance to place themselves at the top of North America when they play versus Team Solo Mid. So far, Curse’s team synergy has been akin to Cloud 9 and their ability to utilize the power of unconventional team compositions has shown promise for the new lineup. If Curse defeats TSM, it wouldn’t be unfounded to see them in the top 3 of North America in coming weeks. But, TSM will pose a formidable challenge for Voyboy and crew. Bjergsen’s LeBlanc was out of this world versus Dignitas, paired with the classic WildTurtle and Xpecial bot lane, Curse is in for a bumpy ride. The key for both team will be to shut down the mid lane as fast as possible. Both Voyboy and Bjergsen have carried their team to success throughout the superweek so far. If either mid laner snags a kill before 5 minutes, it could mean disaster.

XDG vs Team Coast

XDG were demolished by Curse yesterday. Mancloud, someone who is generally considered to be a premier mid in North America, had a 1/10/3 KDA versus Voyboy’s Akali. Curse’s team composition put XDG out of sorts, and unable to put up a fight. In addition, XDG’s incoordination was repeatedly punished by IWillDominate. In this matchup, the Jungle/Mid synergy will be crucial for both teams. IWillDominate and Voyboy have been on a roll, where NintendudeX and Shiphtur have struggled to keep up. XDG will need to take calculated risks, as Curse will take advantage of any mistake XDG makes, and run away with it. XDG will also need to be on the lookout for any odd picks on the side of Curse, and adjust accordingly.
