Sony is continuing to flesh out its selection of titles on the PlayStation Store with a decent-sized update this week. For the PS3, Namco Museum Essentials is a $10 arcade pack that includes the original editions of Galaga, Pac-Man, Dragon Spirit, and Xevious. Moreover, the publisher is including Xevious: Resurrection, a new remake of the top-down shooter that features a high-definition face-lift and what Namco calls "enhanced gameplay for today's refined shoot-'em-up audience."
There is a weighty trio of PSP titles this week, with one particularly lengthy title headlining the pack: Holy Invasion of Privacy Badman! What Did I Do to Deserve This? ($20). The offbeat 8-bit-style strategy game allows players to create deadly dungeons filled with a menagerie of monsters. Also new are the comic-book-based Unbound Saga ($15) and a portable edition of the PC adventure classic Myst ($20).
Crossing over from the original PlayStation is the 2001 military tactics sim Spec Ops: Ranger Elite for $6, which Sony calls "one of the first realistic military tactical combat simulators to be released." For the same price, gamers can also pick up a new Ghostbusters-themed costume pack for Little Big Planet. The package includes the iconic Stay Puft Marshmallow Man uniform and a few other series-themed outfits.
Last but not least, PSN is offering a series of catalog games for 50 percent off for one week until July 23. Savage Moon, Crash Commando, PixelJunk Eden, Brain Challenge, and 3 on 3 NHL Arcade have all dropped from $9.99 to $4.99, with Flock! going from $14.99 to $7.49. Also available at a $5 discount is Wipeout HD for $14.99.
