NASCAR pulling into Activision's pit?

You NASCAR haters, I bet if you were put in a car at 180 mph or more, 3 wide with cars surrounding you, less than inches apart, you would WRECK! There is more to it then ya think.

I don't see this game as being the next greatest racing Sim but more a poor game riding the coat tails of the name it comes from. Though lots of the redneck and trailer park people that bought Wiis to play dumb games will eat this up. I mean no offense to people who like Nascar, my dad does. I'm just saying if you like it then you know that they certainly do even if you don't fall into that category. Walmart shelves will be stocked with this game.

An Activision game that I won't miss buying in the least.

Though I love racing games, I'm going to stick with Gran Turismo 5 and Forza Motorsport 3.

Steer clear of Activision's pit.

Umm I've worked with Eutechnyx before.... they can't actually put out working games, especially the guys at england. Their idea of fixing a bug is removing the feature in peril....

Must be well hard to digitally design a racing track that only consists of left turns...

Presumably the special edition box will look like a pick up truck, come with a crate of low quality american beer, a confederate flag and a DNA test showing that your mum is also your sister, your father is your uncle and you're your own grandpa.

*Look they're making a left turn! Oh my they're making ANOTHER left turn!* Come on, everyone knows that Nascar is for drunk rednecks who have nothing else to do other than sit on their lazy a** all day and watch highspeed cars make another left turn.

Gt5 isn't NASCAR, just NAScars....anyway Thunder 04 was my favorite, hope this turns out good

@bigjohnwv EA discontinued the series two years ago.

EA needs to give up on the NASCAR franchise. They have crapped out on that game since NASCAR 06. Hopefully the next NASCAR game will have real sponsorships like "Budweiser", "Miller Lite", "Jack Daniels" and not things like "Kahne", "Busch" or "Burton" on the hoods.

Nice to hear that NASCAR is coming back. Also it is the Daytona 500 and not the "Dayton" 500.

@lockedge yea Blizzard did take part in the Nascar Racing Series game for pc. Matter afact they had their own car in the game it was pretty sweet also lol.

Lol. wth. A nascar game? Going around in ovals really fast isnt exactly fun at all. Literally minimal input required. Anyway, GT5 will do it better. But I know im not going to go near the Nascar section. Nascar is a joke. If you want to race, race an F1 or GTR R35 or anything down the Nurburgring. In the rain.

i wonder if there will be a mini game were you have to just drink for a whole race and pass out . . . . that would be really realistic.

@lockedge Blizzard did infact take part in Papyrus' NASCAR Racing series. I know they were part of 2002 and 2003, not sure about previous installments.

all you people who say "its just going in circles for four hours" must have never raced on an oval. Its much more then that. There is strategy and i will most def be buying "NASCAR 2011: The Game".

NASCAR is just awful. People who appreciate actual racing know it is a hillbilly joke.

Well you really can't improve or degrade anything in NASCAR since you just go around in a circle for 4 hours.

@GreyFoXX4 Are you certain Blizzard took part in Papyrus' NASCAR Racing series? I'm pretty sure it was just Papyrus, published by Sierra. Sure, Activision now owns what was left of Sierra, but they closed that shop down to try and sell it.

I'm hopeful. Also Activision is not making the game there just publishing it. So if it's bad Activision really had nothing to do with it. Also GT5 only has a small selection of NASCAR tracks and cars. Also one of the lead guys from Eutechnyx has been talking about it on his twitter. His username on twitter is davet_etx he says there will be a official announcement by next week.

Remember when EA was the evil game company and people would have been happy they lost a title? Now Activision has become the new face of evil around here.

Does anyone ever respond to Gamespot's requests for comments? I've yet to see it.

@Animatronic64 I didn't play TH4 much or the Underground series at all, so I can't say anything about them.

I will always and always have played Nascar games for the crap load of cars to crash into; creating an epic crash scene. So, just give me a lot of damn cars and very nice damage modeling + physics and i'm game. Also, who the hell cares who creates/publishes games as long as they're good?

Eh if I want to play NASCAR now I will play it in GT5... an activision NASCAR game might seem more like Mario Kart or something..

In theory nascar on gt5 sounds awesome but seriously. Nobodys getting gt5 for nascar. We've all seen the pics and sure there only early pics but seeing 3 jeff gordons isnt exciting. If they have 5 actual nascar tracks id be amazed and whats the field count in gt5? 10 opponets? 16? I like the GT series but GT has been one of the worst when it comes to On-rail AI. No career and the same opponets finishing in the same positions,id rather get this than gt5 for my nascar fix.

Dont like Activison, dont really like NASCAR games, going to have to pass. Ive got Forza 3 to keep me busy anyway.

P,S. Also when Blizzard and Papyrus had Nascar Racing on the pc, they always released the new version during the weeks builiding up to the Daytona 500 and speed weeks :)

Hmm, Activision? Makes since actually. They own blizzard right? And blizzard and Papyrus made Nascar Racing Series Sim for the pc. Actually this is getting me very pumped up cause there hasn't been a true Nascar game to match Nascar Racing 2003 since well 2003 lol. Very interested in this rumor.
