The third party Chinese League of Legends tournament, National Electronic Sports Tournament (NEST) began with qualifiers on August 1st with 128 Chinese teams invited from LoL Pro League, LoL Secondary Pro League, Tencent Games Arena, and more.

At the end of the eight qualifier brackets, the participants for the Quarterfinals emerged. Now that LPL Playoffs, LPL Regionals, and the 2014 World Championships have passed, NEST will come to a close this weekend.

As favorites, each of the 2014 LPL Summer teams were seeded into separate qualifier brackets, but only five of the eight teams made it to the quarterfinals. Young Glory lost out to Edward Gaming Future, Edward Gaming's sister team, who ultimately lost out to Team King in the Bracket H finals. LGD Gaming fell to Snake.Q in Bracket C. Star Horn Royal Club lost out to Team Ray, a team not even in the Summer LSPL, in Bracket E.

World Elite Academy, World Elite, Edward Gaming, Invictus Gaming, Team King, Team Ray, OMG, and Snake.Q will be making their way across the bracket. As all but Ray and World Elite Academy are gauranteed spots in 2015 LPL Spring, this tournament could serve as a small preview to what's to come, though quite a few rosters remain unlocked.

After somewhat disappointing performances by World Elite and OMG following roster changes during NVidia Gaming Festival this past weekend, both teams have a chance to redeem themselves. More trial roster shakeups might be on display for the event.

The action begins with World Elite vs World Elite Academy on Thursday, October 30th at 12:00AM PDT on the NEST website. Several broadcasting platforms will be available, including Zhanqi, YY, 17173, and Tencent.
