Nerf's Needler replica blaster lights up when you hold it and is fully motorized to authentically imitate the Covenant's trusty weapon.

One of the coolest Halo collectibles and Nerf blasters released in recent years is the Nerf LMTD Needler. The "limited-edition" dart gun--at this point, it doesn't seem to align with its "limited" moniker--is on sale for $67 (was $100) at Amazon. The 33% discount matches the Needler's Black Friday price. The Nerf Needler comes with a display stand, which is a nice bonus since it's certainly a display-worthy collectible.

One of the most iconic weapons in the Halo series, the Needler is known for its rapid rate of fire. To imitate Covenant Grunts' go-to weapon, Nerf installed a motor in the blaster. When you pull the trigger, the Needler launches all 10 Nerf Elite Darts in rapid succession. Yes, this means you will have to reload after each pull. The rotating drum is covered by a shield that you flip open to reload.

The electronic components don't don't stop at the motor. The needles and accents on the handle glow when you hold it. The lighting effects can also be activated by turning on display mode, so you can show it off to friends without removing it from the display stand. You could even insist that it's not a toy while your friends ask if they can try it. You'll probably also want to display the box shown below, because it's also quite cool.

The Needler requires six AA batteries to run. Your best bet here is to pair the blaster with some rechargeable batteries. Amazon Prime members can get this popular AA battery charge station with eight rechargeable batteries for $21.74 (was $29) right now.

Halo fans should also check out Amazon's deal on the Guilty Spark Mega Bloks set. Normally $65, this 609-piece buildable display model with interactive components is on sale for only $37.31.

Do the needles disappear from the top as you shoot? If they did, I would actually consider buying it

@gatsbythepig: I'm sure it'd be a much bigger engineering lift (and make the gun way more expensive), but it's a real missed opportunity to not have the darts load in sticking out the top and then get pulled in as you shoot.

@gatsbythepig: lol, no. It just shoots pink nerf foam "darts", but it zings them pretty far and fast :D
