Netflix Has Canceled Another Original Comedy Show After One Season

Once again, Netflix will not renew one of its original series. The sketch comedy series Astronomy Club is the latest in a long list of TV shows that won't return.

The official Astronomy Club Twitter revealed the info on June 2. They thanked fans for watching the show, with the hope that more black artists and comedians will have a platform for their voices.

Astronomy Club: The Sketch Show debuted on Netflix on December 6, 2019, with all six episodes dropping that day. The comedic series featured sketches with the primary focus on the black experience in America and race relations.

Established in 2014, improv group Astronomy Club was the Upright Citizens Brigade's first all black team. In addition to the Netflix series, the group also had a six-episode show on Comedy Central. Astronomy Club is Shawtane Bowen, Jonathan Braylock, Ray Cordova, Caroline Martin, Jerah Milligan, Monique Moses, Keisha Zollar, and James III.
