New 3DS XL Colors Coming to Japan
No word yet on if they're coming to the west.
Nintendo is releasing new 3DS XL colors in Japan, the company announced today. The colors are Lime and Black and Pink and White. The units go one sale on June 9, priced at ¥20,304, which is around $187.
You can get a closer look at these new models in the galley below, with images taken from Nintendo's website (via Kotaku).

As Jennifer N Burch points out on Twitter, these new colors bear a resemblance to Splatoon characters Callie and Marie. If this is intentional, it's no real surprise, as Splatoon is one of Nintendo's biggest hits, though it's for Wii U and not 3DS.
A 3DS version of Splatoon is unlikely to happen, co-director Yusuke Amano said last year, explaining that technical constraints of the platform are a barrier he didn't sound optimistic about overcoming.
