Those spider bots look terrifying.

Today at San Diego Comic-Con, developer Infinity Ward showed off a lengthy new gameplay demo for its upcoming game, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Showing off gadgets, set-piece moments, and spaceship dogfights, the video gives a sense of the pretty massive scale of battles that the studio is attempting to pull off.

It's the second substantial demo we've seen of the game (the first being the E3 2016 demo), and this one shows a lot more of the tools you'll use when playing. These include deployable spider bots that will seek enemies and vaporize them once they get close, as well as a gun that can flip between an automatic rifle mode and a laser sniper mode. You can check out the video below.

The demo also shows the seamless transition between ground and space combat that Infinity Ward has been emphasizing. You'll be able to hop in your ship and travel to space without a loading screen in between. Space combat looks like it'll center on huge battles between fleets of spacecraft; in the video, the player takes on several smaller ships before focusing fire on a larger craft. The video reveals a bunch of spaceship tools, too, such as a defense mechanism that fires missiles to shoot down other missiles.

Additionally, Infinity Ward released a short video talking more about the UNSA Retribution, a spaceship carrier that acts as the player's base during Infinite Warfare's single-player. In the video, the developer describes how players will use the ship as a hub. It's where you prepare for main missions and side missions. The Retribution is meant to be fleshed out and a part of the game's story, with a narrative arc of its own.

Recently, the studio also showed off a demo of Modern Warfare Remastered, which is included in the Legacy Edition of Infinite Warfare. You can watch that demo here.
