The last good Contra game was on Saturn and one on the PS1 i believe...do your math how long that was ago.

I think I speak for everybody when I say that a franchise that hasn't had a proper game release in at least 10 years doesn't need a "fresh twist"... it needs the original recipe. And there's nothing fresh about injecting dog shit into the original recipe. Streets of Rage 4 sold over 1.5 million copies as of September of 2020... it's not hard to just do what the franchise is known for. Nobody's asking you to reinvent the wheel.

We already have a new Contra game, it's called Blazing Chrome; it's amazing, and it's on Steam.

No one needs to wait for this.

I have already played that game here in China, it is already a couple of years old and is just terrible. The missions are really short, and yes, is riddle with a lot of microtransactions and grindy as hell. Even by Chinese standards it has a bad rating so dont expect too much.

The "new twist" will be microtransactions.

Ah yes, just what people want in their classic, retro games, "a new twist." Gamers just love when you take a classic franchise, change everything up and stick it on phones. Konami definitely know what they're doing.
