New Dino Crisis-Like Game Is PS5-Exclusive Because You're All Sickos

This is why we can't have nice things.

The upcoming Dino Crisis-inspired horror game, Code Violet, will not be coming to PC. Its developers at TeamKill Media say the game will be a PS5 exclusive to prevent modders from modding X-rated dino-based weirdness into their game.

"For those asking us about a PC version of Code Violet... The reason we are not bringing it to PC is we do not want anyone modding vulgar versions of the main character as well as other characters in the game," TeamKill Media explained in a recent tweet.

But it's not just the game's characters TeamKill aims to protect--the studio said that ensuring their game's voice talent felt safe played a part in the decision, too.

"We hold our voice actresses and actors with high regard, as well as our artistic vision for the game and story, and reject any form of destroying that with sexual mods," TeamKill wrote. "Making a joke out of our art and possibly tarnishing the reputation of our voice actresses and actors is not worth the extra money we can make [on PC]."

TeamKill hasn't made any comments regarding their stance on fan art, but one can assume that any NSFW Code Violet art won't be met with enthusiasm from the game's creators.

Code Violet launches on PlayStation 5 sometime in July. For more upcoming releases, check out our list of all the games set to launch in 2025.

Im betting less than 1% of pc gamers actually use NSFW mods. This is a weird business decision

@dominicwow: I'm just thinking... what about fanart? That's where the real weird sh*t is.

Dumbest thing I've ever heard from a developer. Let's have our game make 1/10th what it could make in sales so that like 50 people don't use nude mods for it. It's not very often a developer wants to have their game fail. Modders are what keeps interest in games far longer than there normally would be, thus making more money for the developers. Very bizarre choice. Wonder, if the game tanks, will they change their minds?

@bdrtfm: Also just like... what's stopping people from making NSFW fanart or putting together some unholy creation in Blender and animating it? If they're really that worried about NSFW content, mods are the least of their problems lol.

Most PC gamers don't use nudity mods anyway, so this is a very asinine move by an INDIE studio who's games are absolute low quality. Any game that does not come to PC is an automatic pass for me also. But, hey, RULE 34 will ensure their karma down the road.

@soborozkee: It's so odd. Disallowing mods won't stop people from making NSFW fanart--mods are the least of the problem when it comes to NSFW stuff--and it'll probably Streisand-effect people into posting butt-tons of R34 content on Twitter specifically to spite the devs. There is no universe where this works out in the devs' favor. Guess they're called TeamKill for a reason lol, this is not good for the overall health of the game.

okay... it's not like people to hack the ps5 version and mod it, it might take sometimes to do it but eventually will happen.

Funny, seeing as it looks like an early access steam game lol bit of a shame to discount an entire platform and user base over these concerns.

As a PC player myself I was about to get fired up, but then I saw the trailer and realized that this is just the modern version of Life of Black Tiger. The game looks like an asset flip (Not saying it necessarily is one, just that it has the visual fidelity of one). The models are all stiff as hell, there was no lip movement, and the constant fade-in/fade-outs made the trailer look a lot like the AI slop that's infested YouTube recently.

Frankly, the only reason I even cared was because for a second I thought the game WAS Dino-Crisis.

Excluding a player base is never a good look for a developer. While the game itself seems unpolished—especially for a trailer—I think most gamers would agree that inclusive gaming platforms benefit everyone by allowing more people to enjoy the experience. For a developer to publicly dislike or exclude PC modders, who have often elevated games and driven unexpected success through high sales, is disappointing. Shame on this unknown developer.

That looks like shovelware that would be played by around hundred players.

Check out the studios previous efforts to discover that they're not exactly at the cutting edge of game development.

Be honest... without this "news" release how many people had heard of the game or gave a flying f**k about it... not many.

Waw just waw, I am speechless. This is a new level of stupid. Like, every PC gamer likes to mod?!. Out of my 300 Steam friends maybe 5 or 6 like mods. Let's exclude 80% of the user base because 20% likes to mod.
