New Game Of Thrones Mobile Game Lets You Hatch Your Own Dragon

Now you get to whisper dracarys to your phone.

Dracarys is a new mobile app-slash-game from HBO Max that uses Niantic's Lightship technology, released ahead of the network's new Game of Thrones spin-off House of the Dragon. It's like Tamagotchi, where you get to hatch and raise a dragon, but with additional augmented reality elements.

Each dragon will apparently be unique and will develop according to how you treat it. It will eventually reach adulthood and other app users will be able to see and interact with the dragon. To command your dragon, you'll issue voice commands in the Valyrian language.

DracARys creator The Mill isn't a game development studio. It's a "global creative and production partner for agencies," according to the company's website. The Mill previously worked with Riot Games to produce a virtual concert featuring in-game heroes performing together in a metal band called Pentakill.

HBO Max's House of the Dragon premieres on August 21. Like the name implies, the show will focus on the Targaryen dynasty. The main characters are Viserys, the king, and his brother Daemon, Visery's daughter Rhaenyra, and Rhaenyra's best friend Alicent. Apparently, Alicent weds Viserys, which throws a wrench into both familial and platonic relationships.
