Sony has announced specifics on the more than 500 cars and 40 track combinations that will be available in highly anticipated Gran Turismo 2 for the PlayStation. The sequel to the best selling racing title of all time, Gran Turismo will feature cars from the following manufacturers:

Alfa Romeo Fiat Mercury RUFAston MartinFord MG ShelbyAudi Honda Mini SubaruBMW Jaguar Mitsubishi SuzukiChevrolet Lancia Nissa ToyotaChrysler Lister Opel TVRCitroen Lotus Peugeot VectorDaihatsu Mazda Plymouth VenturiDodge Mercedes-Benz Renault Volkswagen

Gran Turismo 2 will also allow you to create your own custom cars. Included in the game are real-life garages like Audi Sport, Ford Racing, AMG, and TWR Racing that will offer you the ability to fine-tune your automobile as you progress through the game.

According to Sony, Gran Turismo 2 also features more than 40 different track combinations. This time around there will be street courses, world-renowned racetracks, and dirt tracks on which the vehicles can be tested. Some new courses that have been announced include Roma Circuit, Tahiti Road, Laguna Seca Raceway, Seattle Circuit and Pike's Peak International Hill Climb Race. Many of the tracks can be played in reverse and at night, to offer variety.
