New Images from Wonder Woman Movie Revealed
Gal Power!
Wonder Woman made a brief but memorable appearance in this year's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and will return for a standalone movie next year. Some new images from the upcoming DC film have now been released--check them out below, via EW.
Wonder Woman is directed by Patty Jenkins and is set for a June 2017 release. It stars Gal Gadot as the Amazonian princess turned superhero, alongside Chris Pine, Robin Wright, and Danny Huston.
The first footage from the film was revealed earlier this year, during a DC special that ran on the CW.
Gadot told EW that the weather conditions for the film's London shoot were not always comfortable, especially during a scene in which she stands on top of a tall building. "It was such an important moment," she said. "Even though the weather was not cooperating, I had to deal with it. It was cold. My ovaries froze."
Jenkins spoke about the reason it has taken so long for a Wonder Woman movie to finally be made. "I think part of the reason Wonder Woman hasn't happened [until now] is because the right way to do it is as a classic origin story," she said. "People were afraid to do it with a woman, and now they are less so.
"The natural spirit of Gal is Wonder Woman. She's so kind, so good, so beautiful, and capable of being sexy, but not in a way that makes other women uncomfortable. It's what Wonder Woman should be."
Wonder Woman arrives in cinemas on June 2, 2017.
