TOKYO - If there's one title that impressed me most in terms of graphics at the PlayStation Festival, I would have to say that it was Koei's war-strategy simulation Kessen. Instead of using CG rendered cutscenes for its movie sequences, the game renders each one in real time. And the thing that amazed me most was that these real-time sequences looked so close to good CG quality that it was scary. And this wasn't merely in terms of graphical quality - it was also because of how Koei included effects that aren't normally used in real-time sequences. For example, there are scenes where the camera will focus on different characters, and certain ones will become blurry as it refocuses. It's very cool to see.

We've captured some screens and video of some of the more impressive scenes that we saw while playing the game at the show. Check these out to see what we mean.
