New Look: Speed Punks
Today we played the US version of Speed Freaks. Check out our first impressions and media inside.
Another title Sony demonstrated today was Speed Punks, the US version of the previously released-in-Europe cart racer, Speed Punks. The game is similar to titles like Mario Kart, but it plays well - fans of this genre will no doubt want to investigate a purchase.
One aspect being worked on for the US release is its control. Currently the game sports very mushy car handling, which will probably turn off those who are used to the more precise controls in Mario Kart or Crash Team Racing. Luckily, this is being tweaked for the US market.
Speed Punks looked pretty solid from what we saw. We'll of course be back with full impressions once we spend some more time with the game.
