A new Nier: Automata video has been released, showing off 30 minutes of gameplay from Platinum Games' upcoming action game.

The video starts off in an android resistance camp which functions as a quest hub of sorts. The camp is filled with characters that sell items and also help the player upgrade themselves. There's an overview of the loadout system, which allows players to equip different weapon sets to cater to specific play styles, and protagonist 2B has a chat with a few NPCs, including Anemone, the resistance leader for the area.

Outside of this area, there's plenty of fast-paced combat on show. We're also given a look at some of the side activities such as fishing, which returns from the first game. Check it all out in the video below.

On February 3, publisher Square Enix announced that Nier: Automata has gone gold. Producer Yosuke Saito revealed that it had actually gone gold a while ago, but this information had only just been revealed publicly.

Nier: Automata's PS4 release date has been confirmed as March 7 in North America. It launches on March 10 in Europe and Australia. The game is scheduled to launch later in 2017 on PC. You can check out a free demo on the PlayStation Store now.

Platinum was also developing the Xbox One and PC-exclusive game Scalebound, but that was canceled by publisher Microsoft. Xbox boss Phil Spencer has since said the game's cancellation is "better for Xbox gamers."
