NxN Software announced today that it has developed a plug-in that will let its Alienbrain digital production management solution communicate with Metrowerks' CodeWarrior next-generation middleware program.

"CodeWarrior is one of the most versatile development solutions for game programmers," stated NxN CEO, Gregor vom Scheidt. "In order to offer our customers a total digital production management solution, it is absolutely necessary for Alienbrain to provide easy access to the high-end programming solutions development teams need, like CodeWarrior."

Alienbrain helps accelerate the game development process by simplifying it in all phases. The CodeWarrior plug-in will allow seamless communication between both programs and will facilitate CodeWarrior taking advantage of Alienbrain's client/server framework that allows code creation in a secure environment. CodeWarrior provides middleware development tools for the Sony PlayStation 2 and the Nintendo GameCube. It performs functions such as multicore debugging, C++ compiling/libraries, and an interface for art tool plug-ins.

"Today's complex game development environments are placing increasing demands on programmers," said Phil Moffett, the game console product manager for Metrowerks. "We are certain that the Alienbrain plug-in will provide a more secure working environment for programmers, which will increase the productivity of programmers throughout the game development industry."
