New Prey Trailer Shows Off Terrifying Alien Enemies
Prey. For. Mojo.
Bethesda has released a new trailer for its upcoming first-person sci-fi game Prey.
The video highlights various alien species, which also act as some of the game's enemies. Most prominent is the Mimic, which can disguise itself as inanimate objects such as chairs and boxes before attacking you without notice. We also get a glimpse of the Weaver, Phantom, and Telepath--take a look for yourself above.
Additionally, the video's endslate shows off what bonus DLC preorder customers will receive. Called the Cosmonaut Shotgun Pack, the add-on includes bonus materials like extra medkits, as well as a special gold-plated shotgun.
Prey is being developed by Dishonored developer Arkane's Austin studio. It is a re-imagining of the 2006 original, and a replacement for the canceled sequel to that game that was in development at Human Head Studios.
Prey, which launches for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on May 5, is seen by some as a spiritual successor to the 1994 game System Shock, while we also think it's been inspired by BioShock. We recently went hands on with Prey, and you can see our thoughts on it here. Alternatively, take a look at these exclusive images, or check out some gameplay footage here.
