New PS Now Games For August Include Two Big Names

Sony has added three new games to its PS Now streaming service for August, and they're all fairly high-profile games.

Sony is always adding new selections to its PlayStation Now streaming service, and these are the new games for August. As with July, we only have three new games, but you've likely heard of all of them.

First, there's Hitman 2, the latest entry in the long-running series, which puts you in the expensive leather loafers of Agent 47 as he assassinates target after target across the globe. Second is Dead Cells, the indie powerhouse that combines Castlevania and Rogue Legacy to create a uniquely punishing (but compelling) roguelike experience. Rounding out this month is Greedfall, an action-RPG that allows you to reshape an entire island according to your own whims.

Sony's PS Now service is the company's answer to Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass. It's a subscription service that allows you to stream or download games, which also makes the games playable on PC. It comes in at $10 a month. PS Now should not be confused with PS Plus, a monthly subscription that allows players to utilize online multiplayer, which also comes with several free games per month. The free PS Plus games for August are the goofy multiplayer game Fall Guys and the campaign for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

I like PS Now -you pay 50 bucks for a year, and I get a lot of games - but for me I live in China and my internet to there sucks because of various issues (I live in a 30 story building with Wifi vampires). Some games you can download and some you have to stream. Streaming sucks! Let me download the first Red Dead!

@dmblum1799: If you have an Xbox, RDR2 is on Game Pass right now. And RDR1 is backwards compatible (X1X Enhanced even), though not on Game Pass at the moment, you can still buy it (altough it's $30 right now, as it's not on sale, you can buy a disc version or wait for a sale). And of course, you can play all games once you've downloaded them from Game Pass, even offline.
