New Rampage Movie Trailer Delivers Maximum Monster Mayhem
Monster mash.
The hugely successful reboot of Jumanji is still doing impressive business in theaters, but the ever-busy Dwayne Johnson will soon return to the screen in another spectacular action comedy. Rampage is the big-screen adaptation of the classic video game--it arrives on April 20, and a new international trailer has been released.
This Japanese promo puts the emphasis on the movie's ridiculous-looking monster action. It also features an introduction from Johnson himself, who makes reference to Japan's long history of monster movies and has a go at speaking Japanese. Check it out above.
This latest promo follows one released last week, and an earlier trailer that arrived in January. Rampage also stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Naomie Harris, Malin Åkerman, and Joe Manganiello. It's directed by Brad Peyton, who also worked with Johnson on the 2015 disaster smash San Andreas.
Rampage was originally released in arcades back in 1986 before being ported to more than a dozen other platforms--it's appeared on everything from the Commodore 64 to the PS2. It's also seen a number of sequels produced, though by the time the movie comes out, it will have been more than a decade since the last of these, Total Destruction, was released.
This is one of three movies Johnson has heading to the big screen this year, along with Skyscraper and the wrestling biopic Fighting with My Family--in which he plays himself and serves as executive producer. Rampage smashes into theaters on April 20.
