New Resident Evil Movie's First Trailer Features Action, Guns N' Roses
Alice is back, and headed to Raccoon City.
Following a shorter clip earlier today, Sony's Screen Gems today released the first full-length trailer for next year's Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. Originally posted on IGN, the video uses the famous Guns N' Roses song "Paradise City" and follows main character Alice (Milla Jovovich) as she returns to Raccoon City.
Paul WS Anderson returns to direct. The Final Chapter co-stars Shawn Roberts, Ali Larter, and Iain Glen, and arrives in theaters on January 27, 2017. A new poster has also been released; see it here.
Jovovich will participate in a Q&A on her Facebook page today, starting at 12 PT / 3 PM ET.
Last October, the production of the film was delayed following a serious accident involving one of its stunt crew. Olivia Jackson struck a camera crane while performing a motorcycle stunt, a collision that put the experienced performer in hospital with multiple injuries. In December of 2015, a crew member was killed in a filming accident.
The previous Resident Evil film, 2012's Retribution, grossed $240 million worldwide, and the series has to date, across five previous movies, made more than $915 million globally. If The Final Chapter's name is anything to go on, this could be the last one.
