Michigan-based Stardock Corporation sent us a new group of screenshots from its upcoming turn-based space strategy game, Galactic Civilizations. The new screenshots show off different features of the game, including a look at the diplomacy screen, the unit acquisition screen, an event screen, and the sector map.

Galactic Civilizations is set in the 23rd century. Players will assume the role of a leader of humankind's expansion into the galaxy, and they will have to compete against up to five other computer-controlled races for control of territory. The game will challenge players to determine the best way to use humankind's limited resources, and players will have a great deal of freedom to make decisions and take different actions. The game also includes a number of innovative features, such as a unit lease program, a heavy emphasis on diplomatic options, multiple victory conditions, and a variety of random events.

Galactic Civilizations is scheduled for release near the end of 2002. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game.
