New Seiken Densetsu project hinted at
Recruitment page on Square Enix site details new title.
TOKYO--On its official Web site, Square Enix says it is seeking employees for a new Seiken Densetsu title. The recruitment page hosts two concept illustrations but does not give explicit details on the project.
Some information can be gleaned from the job requirements. Aside from the usual set of art designers, programmers, map designers, and battle system developers, open positions include 3D character model designers, 3D motion designers, background rendering designers, and special effect designers. Clearly, the title will be a 3D game, and since one of the requirements for the battle system developers is to have experience with action games, it seems likely that the new Seiken Densetsu title will keep the series tradition as an action-based RPG.
Square Enix did not discuss a platform for the new title. The last Seiken Densetsu game, Shinyaku Seiken Densetsu, was released in 2003 for the GBA. That game was a remake of the original 1991 Game Boy title that kicked off the Seiken Densetsu series.
