New Spider-Man game being unveiled at WonderCon April 2

@N0tYrBeezin It just seems ironic that you say 'Yes like we didn't have enough of spiderman games already!' I just can't believe you said that cause no one seems to be complaining that everything out now is a generic first person shooter priced ridiculously for their mediocre campaigns and short replay value. At least Spider-Man is something refreshing.

I though Shattered Dimensions was pretty clever. Sure it was short, but the story kept me interested in it. You have my happiness for the next spidey game! :D

Ultimate Spider-Man is still my fav. if only I had that game back when I was a 10 y/old.

Strange to see this on the same day i started playing Shattered dimensions. I´ve only finished the tutorial and 2 levels but so far it´s a pretty good game.

Well i think the past two games have been good, both Shattered Dimension and Web of Shadows - But i'd like to a Spiderman game with amazing graphics, great voice acting and a good story including Carnage!!! Though it's all good, never thought Spiderman games were bad, just abit too repetetive from time to time

Haven't played a Spiderman game since Enter Electro on the PS1 and that was brilliant. I would however like to play Shattered Dimensions...looks surprisingly good.

Wow, there's a lot of people that liked "Shattered Dimensions." I kinda thought it was too linear, and the controls and camera angles weren't very responsive.

Hopefully they make that good exciting story that's in the spectacular spiderman series. Like a dark story with epic fighting

I still remember Activision bringing out games like Rome: Total War, and not looking any more greedy than any other company. I wish I could say the same now... When did Shattered Dimensions come out? Exactly...

I know I might get so many thumbs down, but it is bad to ask for co-op Spider-Man game that resembles Seperation Anxiety or Maximum Carnage? And please, for the love of goodness, let this NOT be hype about the upcoming movie-tie-in video game (although Spiderman 2 was a GREAT GAME!)

Shattered dimensions didn't have free roam? I was going to get it, but... I need free roam. That's why Spider-man 2 was the best one ever.

is it bad that I didn't know about this conference, though, I live on the East Coast, so I doubt I'd ever go...San Diego Comic Con...now that sounds cool!

My personal Favorite spider-man games are... Spider-man vs the Kingpin (sega CD) Spider-man and the X-men in Arcade's Revenge (snes) Spider-man: Maximum Carnage And of course Ultimate Spider-man (which was cool since you could play as both the main character and Venom) Oh! and i almost forgot about the spider-man arcade game since it had 4 playable characters (blackcat, namor and hawkeye as well as the webhead lol) Anyhow...i will admit Shattered Dimensions turned out pretty good and was fun so i'm looking forward to hearing about this next game.

Spider-Man games peaked at Spider-Man 2. They missed the boat on making the perfect Spider-Man game because that one was based on the movie, but the open-world concept has already been done so one based on the comics would still be boring, a la Web of Shadows.

They got to go back open world again and try not to srew it. i really think they should done it in the first place my option, and i think they should put online open world to keep the fans instesteding i think what was missing in spiderman 3 didnt got pp instesting and plus mistake in 3rd game. Was hard so i guess what i trying to say Activevision get off your butt make this happen or come hire me to do the game. because i have great ideas of 28 year old person to keep the fans happy.

@grey_fox1984 Yeah, you're right. I knew all that information too about Raimi's love for the 60's villains and how he never understood Venom. You can blame fans (like me) who wanted Venom so much that they "made" Raimi add him in to please us. Now, all I feel is disappointment on the way he was handled. Then again, if he was never in 3 I would've been disappointed too. I just hope 3 never ruined Venom for future films. The Symbiote story line really needs its own film. Two if needed be. Spider-Man 3 was my most anticipated movie at that time, ever! I think The Avengers takes it now.

I agree grey fox. They need to have the open world like Spiderman 2. MAN! Spiderman 2 was my fav spiderman game! I I beat it so many times... i lost count! :) Anyways, as far as the combat goes, the combo system of fighting is okay.... but, have you ever thought about this? Have you ever seen the way spiderman fights in the movies? Why not have that sort of fighting in his next game? I want to see him fight like he did in the rain scene on Spiderman: The Movie (2002) :)

All I can say about this game is that if they go back to open-world like the Spiderman 2 game, that'd be awesome but they should LEARN FROM THE MISTAKES SANDBOX GAMES HAVE MADE IN THE PAST!!!! Namely, variety in objectives- Spiderman 2 REALLY suffered from that, and in the post-Assassin's Creed 2 world, the gaming community should not forgive less. (I singled out AC2 because the repetitive objectives are what killed the first game, but Ubisoft learned the lesson for the second)

Spider-man deserves it's own "Arkham Asylum". edit - Clearly I'm an unoriginal bore, since 90% of the rest of the comments here have said the same thing. Still, the point is valid.

@davetbeau Don't blame raimi for ruining Venom- blame Sony Pictures for making him shoehorn Venom into his Sandman movie. Raimi was always vocal about the fact that he didn't think Venom fit into his universe and that Venom was never a character he particularly liked (Raimi drew a lot more inspiration from the silver age Spiderman comics than the darker 90s books that I grew up with- can't say I AGREE, because I think Venom's awesome; but I understand where he's coming from). Had the focus been on Sandman and the Harry Osbourne arc been developed better, I think his third movie would've turned out a lot more satisfying. I really wish we could have seen his Vulture/Lizard movie he was planning for the fourth; and find it terribly ironic that Sony Pictures shut it down because the villains weren't marketable... but now The Lizard is going to be the first villain in their new series- movie studios are weird.
