Warner Bros. Pictures has released another new trailer for the upcoming Suicide Squad film. This time around, the trailer is focused on the Joker, who is portrayed by Jared Leto.
The trailer offers some new footage of the Joker and for the first time, reveals some interaction between him and Harley Quinn. There is also a new shot of the Batmobile. You can watch it in the embed above. The video follows a slew of new trailers focusing on various characters of the Suicide Squad roster. So far, we've seen Amanda Waller, Deadshot, and Harley Quinn.
Last year, Will Smith revealed that despite working with Leto for months, he had never spoken to the actor out-of-character. "I've never actually met Jared Leto," Smith revealed in an interview. "We worked together for six months and we've never exchanged a word outside of 'Action!' and 'Cut!' I literally have not met him yet. So, the first time I see him will be 'Hey, Jared. What's up?' He was all in on the Joker."
Suicide Squad is directed by David Ayer, who wrote the Oscar-winning Training Day and directed Fury and End of Watch. The movie also stars Jared Leto, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, and Jay Hernandez, and Ben Affleck will make a cameo appearance as Batman.
Suicide Squad is set to hit theatres on August 5. According to a recent report, the film could pull in as much as $140 in the US for its opening, which would set a new August record. It also has potential to be the biggest opening for a Will Smith movie. Smith's current best-performer is 2007's I Am Legend, which made $77.2 million in the US for its debut weekend.
