New Uncharted Trailer Sticks The Landing On Stunts
The long-delayed movie will hit theaters on February 18.
Sony Pictures Entertainment has released a new trailer for Uncharted, which will debut in movie theaters on February 18.
Compared to the previous trailers released in October and the one in December, this one is all about the action. There's still a bit of quipping interplay between Tom Holland as Nathan Drake and Mark Wahlberg as Sully, but that takes a backseat to--for example--once again spotlighting the iconic cargo plane scene, which is almost a shot-for-shot remake of the sequence from Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. Check out the new trailer below.

Uncharted is directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland) and co-written by Rafe Judkins (Wheel of Time) and screenwriting duo Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (Iron Man, Punisher: War Zone). In addition to Holland and Wahlberg, the movie stars Sophia Ali, Tati Gabrielle, and Antonio Banderas. Sony has been working on the film for over a decade, with numerous different writers, directors, and actors coming aboard and dropping out over the years. Sony also recently released a new poster for the upcoming Uncharted movie.
In a recent interview, Holland said the intensely physical shoot for Uncharted "broke" him. Holland's latest movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home, is in theaters now--and got off to a great start in the box office.
In terms of the game franchise, the next release is Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, which is coming to PlayStation 5 and PC in 2022. It includes updated versions of Uncharted 4 and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. In GameSpot's review of the Legacy of Thieves Collection, Alessandro Barbosa felt the visual upgrades yielded "significant, but unsurprising, results."
