New Wii U/3DS EShop Sale Discounts Games, Lets You Earn My Nintendo Rewards

Mario Kart 8, Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward, Shin Megami Tensei IV, and more on sale.

Nintendo has kicked off a new eShop sale for spring, discounting a number of games on Wii U and 3DS.

Some of the deals are on the underwhelming side, as Nintendo is generally hesitant to drop the prices of its own games too far--you can get Mario Party 10 for $35, Mario Kart 8 for $42, and Code Name: Steam for $28. But there are also some great deals, including Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward for $12, Inazuma Eleven for $14, and Shin Megami Tensei IV for $14.

Strangely, Nintendo's website claims the sale offers up to 30 percent off select games, when in fact certain games have had their prices slashed by more than twice that. Zero Escape is just under half off and DuckTales Remastered is $5 (down from $15), for example.

Whatever the reason, remember that with the recent launch of My Nintendo, you can now earn Gold points that can be cashed in for various rewards, including 3DS and Wii U games. These Gold points, unlike the points earned through My Nintendo's predecessor, Club Nintendo, are only obtained by purchasing digital games through the eShop; physical games won't net you any rewards.

The eShop Super Spring Sale runs from now until April 21 at 8:59 AM PT. You can see all the deals here.
