New Wonka Poster Has A Creepy Detail You Won't Be Able To Unsee
The chocolatier has quite the odd posture when seated.
We know Willy Wonka is built different. But a new poster released for the prequel showcases the chocolatier in a sitting position that looks as weird as Violet blowing up into a blue balloon in the 1971 original.
On X (formerly known as Twitter), user Erick Lorinc pointed out the Wonka poster presumably photoshopped "sitting down" legs on top of Timothee Chalamet standing up in-character. Not only is the posture jarring, but Chalamet's midsection almost looks elongated because of the digital alteration.
My one comment on Wonka for now is that they very clearly took a photo of him standing up and put "sitting down" legs under the coat in the poster and it looks insane. pic.twitter.com/I1f4bQEg43

This isn't the first time a movie poster has been mocked because of a goofy photoshop. For example, an iconic Ready Player One poster shows Tye Sheridan's Wade with the longest leg possibly in the history of the world.
In October, a new Wonka trailer showed the young inventor facing off against the chocolate cartel. The footage also provides a glimpse at the rest of the film's cast, which includes Keegan-Michael Key, Rowan Atkinson, Matt Lucas, Olivia Colman, and Hugh Grant as an Oompa Loompa.
Chalamet said earlier this year that Wonka is an antidote to all of the bad news and "intense political rhetoric" in the world. The origin story has been in the works since 2016 with Harry Potter producer David Heyman.
Wonka is set to premiere December 15 in theaters.
