New World is now discounted for the first time since the game released earlier this year. Players eager to try out Amazon Games Studios’ new MMO can buy it digitally for just $30 ($40) right now at Amazon as part of the retailer's Black Friday sale. The Steam version of New World will also be discounted to $30 starting tomorrow, November 24.

New World is a PVP-focused MMO where players join one of three rival factions and engage in large-scale warfare over control of the world of Aeternum. Players spend the early parts of their adventure leveling their characters, collecting gear from PVE quests and dungeons, and crafting, but the real draw is duking it out in multiplayer battles. Check out our New World review for more details.

New World is off to a relatively successful start, but like all online games it's seen its fair share of early launch issues, most notably duplication bugs that broke the in-game economy, forcing the developers to pause all in-game item and gold trading (twice!), and ban in at least 1,200 user. But hey, $30 isn’t bad for an MMO that could potentially last you several hundred hours.
