Nintendo Amiibo Preorders - Check Out All Seven Switch 2 Launch Characters

Seven new Amiibo figures based on The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Street Fighter 6 release alongside the Switch 2 on June 5.

Nintendo's upcoming batch of The Legend of Zelda and Street Fighter 6 Amiibo figures are available to preorder at major retailers. The seven new figures will arrive alongside the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5 and can interact with their respective launch games: Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Breath of the Wild, and Street Fighter 6: Years 1-2 Fighters Edition.

Nintendo Switch 2 Amiibo Preorders

All seven Amiibo figures received $10 price increases after Nintendo reevaluated the pricing for its first-party accessories as a result of US tariffs. As a result of this change, Tears of the Kingdom's Champions Amiibo cost $30 each. A fifth new Zelda Amiibo based on Mineru's Construct is expected to launch later this year, but a price hasn't been announced yet. Zelda Amiibo figures typically cost $16, though there are figures with $20 MSRPs such as Tears of the Kingdom's Ganondorf.

Street Fighter 6's Amiibo figures, meanwhile, go for a staggering $40 each. This eyebrow-raising move means each figure is only $20 less than the game--and the game includes a bunch of free DLC. For another comparison: The previously released Ken and Ryu Smash Bros. Amiibo carry $16 retail prices. Neither figure is currently in print, but you can buy Ken and Ryu Amiibo for around $25 each from resellers.

As mentioned, the other new Amiibo is for Mineru's Construct. There's no confirmed release date beyond "coming soon," and a price is yet to be determined. It's looking like it'll be quite large, however, and it wouldn't be surprising if it retailed for a higher price than the other four Champions.

Preorders for the Nintendo Switch 2 versions of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Breath of the Wild, and Street Fighter 6 will be available on April 24, too.

People actually buy these? I thought everyone just made their own with Tagmo on their phone.

Weird.

Nintendo? Being greedy? This is an entirely new development with no past patterns that could have ever warned us! It has shaken me to my very core.

@Xylymphydyte: you mean tariffs causing Nintendo to now unexpectedly to be losing more money than expected on system sales, so they are raising prices on other things in order to not have to raise hardware prices

@kaijukrazy: Honestly, this is just going to be Nintendo's excuse for these prices. You can bet they were already planning to gouge everyone. The fact that the price of the console did NOT increase in price after the tariffs tells me these prices were always baked in. I'm of the opinion that the console price is actually not that bad and more or less in line with what I expected. On the other hand, they are clearly trying to make up for that by destroying everyone's interest in the console with the prices of everything else.

Not to say I'm defending the tariffs. The insane orange has no idea what he's doing and it shows.

@Seymour47: they were not already baked in. Pre-tariffs the new zalda amiibo were $19.99 and the street fighter 6 amiibo, being large size to double as collectibles, were $29.99. Even with the accessories the pro controller 2 was $79.99 and is now $84.99. These price increases on accessories are specifically in reaction to Nintendo now losing money on every switch 2 sold because of the tariff increases. Again, instead of raising the system price, Nintendo is trying to make the money back elsewhere. I am guessing you don't fully understand how tariffs work and why this is now happening.

@Seymour47: Just look at the price of the console in Japan compared to the rest of the world. Pretty sure the majority of the parts are made elsewhere.

They are showing some very anti-consumer practices and it's put me off wanting to buy one. All these incremental increases on everything... and people will pay them. Which will encourage them even more.

PC gaming is my future. Steam sales my lifeblood. Would I have liked to see some of the Nintendo exclusives? yeah maybe... but I won't encourage their practices.

What's really crazy is that apparently the Japanese consumers consider the $350-ish adjusted price tag for their region locked system too high as well. And they're REALLY furious over the game prices.
