Small maps? Infantry focus? Sounds like it should be called Battlefield 3: Call of Duty map pack

love the game and would love to see dlc, just please dice dont put patching the game before this, thats all i ask

No word about the big balance update yet? They talked about it but the date was TBA.

theres really no need to hate on the smaller maps, every bf game has had them.. and yes I could list one from at least each game. 1942, stalingrad. 2142, camp gibralter. bc2 had several smaller maps. It add variety. Its not like the bigs maps arent there or are going away when in fact in the following up coming expansion there will be the biggest maps ever.

Not sure why people love huge maps so much. You spend most of your time hiding from snipers or running around bored because you rarely encounter anyone. Vehicles help, sure, but I could rarely get to one before someone else did.

The CQC maps are exactly what the xbox needs. The vehicle levels whilst good simply have too many vehicles for console, to the point where you can fit literally every person in vehicles, leaving no ground crew. That said, I'm not buying it until they sort out the game. PC gets a patch in December whilst the console crowd have been left out to dry for 3 months now. That is just ridiculous, and if they don't intend to patch the consoles until JUNE then I'l simply never buy a DICE game again.

@Draco416 close quarters i expect will be 15$ because of new weapons and four new maps, armored kill i hope its only 10$.

How about more players for PS3 BF3 games...as it is already the case on PC

they all sound awesome i will buy them all, but i think the armored kill sound the best

@adamasdf1 True that man!! The smaller maps are good for squad DM and regular DM.

@djpetitte I know. I'm talking about the first one. I'm looking forward to the second. Maybe it's different on PC than console. I've only played on PC, and from what I've seen Metro is a mess. Maybe this will be different. We'll see.

I cant get enough BF3. The more the merrier.

For those complaining about close quarters maps, just stop. DICE is giving us variety (aka the spice of life). If all maps were the same size it would get boring like COD. Instead they give you a variety to play with and all you guys complain that its not what you want. Then don't play those maps the big ones still are there and still very fun to play (as long as you have a "team").

Close Quarters is going to be a horrible expansion pack.....it's battlefield not COD.... don't try to turn BF into something which it's not

PC player: Well, i gave up on it a while ago, its so buggy and the constant hackers have ruined it for me. It is a console game ported to the PC, the BF2 maps have been shrunk down to accommodate our console friends and the BF3 maps are not the sprawling areas we hoped for. I should have got it on the console I guess and put up with the pad.

I'll get them all! BF3 is a great game and well worth the money!

@wurdmann the following expansion is supposed to have the biggest maps in BF ever created.

I don't want indoor maps. This is BF3, give me big outdoor maps. That's what this franchise is good for.

4 indoor maps and the name close quarters... hopefully those maps arent a camping mess like metro is, and if you play metro on pc its just horrible lol 64 players in the tiny place camping the stairs XD

At least these are Expansion packs not "Map Packs"

I hope they have a map like the old Coral Sea (all air and ships) or a huge map with enough tanks and helis for everyone p.s: For the love of god, no more F-35s. They are so bad.

CQC maps, eh? Could be fun. It's probably going to be like that one co-op mission inside the building where you have to get to the garage.

This is great news, but where's Battlefield 2143? That crate on Wake Island lied to me!

Really exicted for some new maps and weapons. Hopefully they will not support that trash conquest assault mode. Only concern is that i play on the PS3. Maps like caspian, kharg and firestorm hardly have any action in them due to the large scale and small team size. these new "biggest ever maps" may not have very much action in them for us console players. Really wish dice would up the team size. 16 vs 16 would be a nice change.

More close quarters like Metro! Best map on BF3.

They need to tighten up the Squad Deathmatch maps a bit. I played on Gulf of Oman yesterday and spent the entire match running around in circles with no-one to shoot or be shot at, scanning the radar for a glimpse of a red mark... Dice, make the maps tighter (eg MOH tighter) so it's easier to actually find someone to shoot!!

Close quarters doesnt sound that good because your in a refined place but looking forward to the 10 new weapons

Getting them all. I love BF and DICE overall. Yeah its bit of a "waste of money" but hey every previous Battlefield (no Im not talking about BC, freeones ect) had DLC and I bought them then too and loved each and everyone of them.

@yeah_28 Then they are not real fans if they think that. BF3 should not have a TDM in the game they did that for the console fanboys. This game is meant to be played with objectives and this has a lot of strategy that can be implemented thanks to the changing environments so yeah COD has NOTHING to do with this game.

Hopefully they don't release them all at once like they do with CoD. It seems that they are spacing them out though, considering that the B2K was back in December and Close Quarter's is coming out in June. Personally, I think the Armored Kill pack sounds very interesting. I wan't to see just how big these maps are.

I wounder if this concludes the Dlc or if there will be more in 2013?

$15 DLC x 4 = Black Ops = Crap = No buy for me no matter how much a BF fanboy I am.

Ive been addicted to this game since it came out at first all i played was TDM and i got bored but i started to get into jets and helicopter and tank leveling up and it got very fun.

I hate the sniping in this game but that 12 frags and mav road-killing are my only problems. Ive been pretty addicted to the game so yea i hope its good.

I am more interested in the vehicle warfare, battlefield 3 is already tight as it is and don't want smaller maps.

@Frosty192 @djpetitte Actually i think he is talking about how BF3 was very influenced by cod, i and almost all bf fans i've talked to agree with that.

Im crossing my fingers the Armored Kill Pack has maps that allow more players per match but I highly doubt it for the consoles. Big maps need bigger teams!!!!

Battlefield 3 is not what i expected, but its still very fun and entertaining, i havent even bought b2k yet and i still play the game like the first week i got it.

Might buy these since the summer lineup is lacking but I've barely touched BF3 the past month. The game is beginning to get stale to me. Guess I'm just getting tired of the market being flooded with first person shooters.

The thing I hate the most about BF is that the game is the most supported by PC players, who have supported the game from its beginning, heck I've just bought a 2500$ laptop and the only game I have in it is BF3, and this is how they treat PC gamers...... sad...

I'll never buy it. There's so much wrong with this game, I don't even know where to start. DICE and EA fooled a lot of shooter fans by hanging off of COD's coattails. I doubt it happens again.
